3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 TomDecapolis (4222) - Lawrence, Kansas, USA - MAR 1, 2008
Sample at PCBF 08. Pours a lightly hazy golden with a smaller bubbly white head. Aroma of wheat, Belgian yeast esters, coriander, lots of various peppery notes and some orange. Flavor was more of the peppery notes, interesting spiciness, orange, Belgian yeast and sweet maltiness.

Pours a golden yellow with a weak white head, aroma and flavor are hard to explain but i guess its the peppercorn and juniper. Not very good at all!

22 ounce bottle.
hazy honey colored pour with a quickly disappearing head. The aroma and flavor have mild hints of spiciness. For me, this beer came up short of the spiciness in the description and the crispness I’d expect from a witbier
2.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 michael-pollack (4962) - King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 24, 2008
22oz. Bottle: Aroma of spices, lemon, fruit, and some funk. Poured orange/yellow/straw/light brown in color with a small white head that diminished immediately. Cloudy. Sparkling. Some particles. Flavor of yeast and generic spices. Light to medium body. Thin, watery texture. Average carbonation. Spice finish. Really very little to this beer in flavor or body.
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 Dough77 (821) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - JAN 19, 2008
Not horrible, just not amazing in any way. Very spicy....peppery. Corriander shows up in a big way,not my thing but not a huge turn off. Overall just an average wit, an average beer.

this is A horrible beer. It looks like swamp water and tastes like sweet brown water.

23 oz. bomber. Pours an odd brown/orange with bright white head that disapates rather quickly. Nose was subtle at first, honestly nothing, at least spice wise. Very "wit"-ty. That’s not a bad thing, but after reading the label, I was expecting this in-your-face spice and pepper feel. I didn’t get it. As it warms, the juniper kinda comes through. Tastes malty and sweet, twinge of alcohol and a thouch of the orange and coriander. Well hopped for the style. The peppercorns aren’t coming though. I’m semi-dissapointed. I was excited for pepperiness. Flavors open up a bit when warm. I’m a fan. One down, five to go.
2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 cheap (3375) - Cheap Lager in Western, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 4, 2007
UPDATED: DEC 31, 2007 Drank in the company of brewmaster Matt Allyn. Smells rather spicey. Appearnce is cloudy and slightly brownish pale yellow. Thin girdle around the inside edge of the glass for a head. Very little carbonation. Has an interesting heavy wit bier attitude. You can tell this is a stronger wit beer. Finish is not in your face considering how big this is. I’m not sure if imperial witbiers should be in the category of witbier.

22 oz bottle. Cloudy orange with a thin ring of white foam. Dough, buttery orange and banana. Medium, wheaty body but carb is too light to balance. Orange peel and coriander fade into green banana. A little tongue tip pepper bite. Juniper gives a slight ginny finish. An interesting take on the style.
