THOUGHTS: I start by saying it’s an awful wit, but I know the brewer had to a pick a category for this beer even though it is one of those hybrid beers that shouldn’t be categorized. It is a very interesting beer though. Once the yeast is poured it is almost like a cross between a dunkelweizen and a wit. A nice beer, but not great. TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a hazy, very light brown that sort of looked like dirty water, but it had the most beautiful carbonation I’d ever seen in a beer. But that soon dwindled. Although I gave it a 3 for appearance it would get a 1 if rated this purely as a wit. There was an average to large, fizzy, white head that kept a fairly thick sheet. The beer was darker once the yeast was poured. The aroma was some citrus (orange) hops, lots of spices, wheat and berries (I guess juniper). After the yeast there was also light milk chocolate and some bubble gum. The initial flavor was lightly sweet and bitter and moderately acidic; while the finish was moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter and sour with and average duration. There was wheat, orange, berries, yeast and spices. The light to medium body was a little watery at first, but then mostly dry with fizzy carbonation and a light to moderate astringent finish. Also some of the carbonation seemed to be felt going down the throat.

Bottle, thanks to Bu11zeye. Pours a hazy light amber with white head, ok retention. Aroma is of dominate apple juice....Taste is peppery with citris orange peel. High carbonation with light somewhat watery mouthfeel. Not a bad beer....

This beer pours a light amber with a small white head. The aromas are orange applejuice and peppercorn. The flavors are the same with a little less applejuice in the flavor. This one was kinda sour. Cheers

Brackish honey color with vitamin pee aroma. Taste is watery wheat with a bit of spice. This is not good. $3/22oz

Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a murky golden-tan with a very large white head. The aroma was citrus, musty, wheat, pepper and whiskey. The flavor was dryish, musty, spicy, lightly citrusy and peppery. There was a hint of honey on the long peppery finish. Complex and interesting I will definitely be getting this one again.

22 oz bottle. Hazy light copper in color with a small off white head. Aroma: Spices- coriander, light orange, pepper, Yeast- moderate phenols and esters, light earthy hops, some light wheat and pale malt. Taste: some ltangy wheat, phenolic yeast- gets just a bit rubbery, some moderate banana esters, with a moderate pale malt sweetness. Peppercorns seem to be the dominate spice for me, with some light coriander and orange peel. A touch of vanilla in the taste also. I was expecting more of a traditional wit, this isn’t bad, but not something I’d seek out again.

Nice aroma of citrusy orange then a smell of peppercorn. I really that this was an interesting white ale, a bit on the spicy side. Alcohol was not prevalent at all. Would enjoy again!

I realize this is made with wheat, but to me this is definitely much more like a belgian golden ale rather than a witbier.... For a 6% beer, the alcohol was not nearly masked like it should have been, everyone was surprised this beer was only 6%... i think i would have liked it more had it been called labeled as a belgian golden ale made with wheat and spices rather than a witbier... I was trying to hard to classify it rather than enjoy it...
