This starts with a gush of foam, so be aware. The aroma is an interesting blend of juniper, pepper, and citrus. It pours a very hazy orange-amber, with a full white head. The juniper comes through in the flavor and adds an interesting twist to the usual coriander, pepper, and orange. This is a bit thicker in the mouthfeel then I prefer my witbiers. Overall, this is a very solid and interesting white... if you don’t like juniper, I would stay away.

Pours cloudy gold with white head. Aroma is earthy, pepper, orange and corinder. Taste is sweet and spicey. Light mouthfeel with a smooth mouthfeel. Overall i thought this was solid, the spicyness is t the forefront but not overpowering.

Poured a slightly hazy yellowish orange color. Small head. Big aroma of orange, spices (coriander), pepper. Medium sweetness, light bitter. Light bodied, ave carbonation. Interesting...the pepper is really coming out in this beer. Not bad. Glad i got to try it.

Pours cloudy gold with a medium head. Highly active carbonation when disturbed. Nose is light, wheat backed up by the berry and spice aromas. Mouthfeel is smooth, creamy, mild sweetness throughout the sip until the finish where a hint of that pepper comes in. Really nicely made drink and a very enjoyable take on the style.

Deutlich kräuterartiger Antrunk, süß, Getreide. Vollmundig, minimal scharf. Dann wieder süßer, kombiniert mit dezenter Herbe. Die Mischung der Gewürze ist passend, das Bier rund. Gut! Danke an Travlr! /10/11/11/9/11

12oz bottle. Opaque golden pour. Not much head and no retention which is disappointment for this type of beer. Nose of yeast and some spices. Taste had some spice but it was a little soapy.

They are not kidding with the pepper here. But it doesn’t overpower. Light and brisk with that pepper kick. This is so a food beer.

3 July 2011, bottle. pours a med/light orange, quite hazy w/ some sediment, foamy white head and the bottle was quite a gusher. nice nose. definitely some strong orange peel, herbs and spices that i have a hard time specifying, pleasant maltiness with some dry belgian yeast. med body and mildly fizzy. bitter orange rind is dominant flavour with some herbs/spices that i again have a hard time pinpointing, though i think i would definitely say peppery. i think this is nice and fun and unusual but not a regular drinking ale.

Poured into a pint glass. 3.5 A: Lightly hazed golden yellow color. Three fingers of frothy white head with excellent retention and a good amount of lacing. Some of the spices are found throughout the beer and also on the bottom. 4.5 S: The nose is really nice. The pepper is ever-powerful and really sets this beer out from others of the style. Next is a nearly as powerful corriander. Juniper and orange peel complements underneath it all. Neutral wheatiness throughout. Very nice. 4.0 T: Taste is nearly as good. Lots of pepper and corriander again give a big bold taste, but manages to not be overdone. Juniper comes to the main show while the orange peel again plays a complementary role in the shadows. Neutral wheat. I love the huge spiciness. Pepper lingers on the tongue. 4.0 M: Medium body. Perhaps a touch too much spritzy carbonation. Reasonably creamy and smooth. 4.5 D: This is a very tasty, very spicy version of the style. Really a great beer for a summer afternoon. I suspect I’ll be drinking more of this in the future.
