330ml bottle [courtesy of Frank from Bielefelder Biersalon, thank you very much!]. Murky golden colour with small to average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Strawy, yeasty, minimally tartish aroma, a touch of sauerkraut and protein, grainy-biscuity malty background. Taste is minimally tart, strawy, biscuity, a touch of sauerkraut and lemon, subtle sweetness. Zwickel-Berliner Weisse crossover Golden Ale with homebrew-ish relict.

Pours golden with a beautiful thick white head. Nice lacing on the glass and the head stays thick and creamy for a long time. Gentle hops and something citrusy. Sweet malts and mild bitterness well balanced. Good, clean and simple. Everyday drink.

jookos (5215) - FINLAND - AUG 19, 2014
Bottle. Yellow hazy. Pale malts, some yeastyness. Lightish body, but nicely balanced. A bit like the lager version (actually quite a lot), but with some more cardboardyness and yeasty spicyness to it. Pretty nice though.

33cl bottle. It is nice to experiment with beer, but it is hard to compete in the desired price range. Rather weak competitor. Unfortunately can be compared to mass produced beers in its simplicity. Nice to try, but I would hesitate to go for another bottle.

Kauge (1527) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - JUN 30, 2014
Bottle from Tallinna Kaubamaja food department (€ 2,85) in May 2014. Pours a deep amber with lots of flotsam; white, modest head. Nose is an incredibly disturbing yeasty sweet and sour. If I really try hard it kind of reminds me of sweet, home made apple compote, but then again, chlorine. Taste is grainy, hay, earthy old school hops and autumny overripe fruits (apples or pears). Mediumish thin body with a rather low carbonation, oily palate, dry and grainy finish. Maybe a tasteless lager guy’s ale, if anything. Probably the worst ’craft’ beer I’ve ever tried, I think it’s all around unpleasant. (BB date is 01.2015 if anyone’s wondering.)
