2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle 33cl, a dark beer with low head. Nose is chocolate like with a slightly sour note. Aroma is fruity, sour like with a watery body, chocolate and toasted notes. Too fruity and sour to be a real porter, low complexity too.

2.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Thin head, nearly pitch black body. Lots of roasted barley on the nose, some cherries, some chocolate and coffee. Taste is a mix of spices and barley and alcohol. Watery finish. About an average porter.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottled. Bought in a supermarket in Wintzenheim, Alsace, France. Aroma has roast, anise and fruitiness. Clear, black coloured with an off-white head. The taste is a bit sweet, quite fruity (black currant) and has some anise. Thin bodied and quite carbonated. Not too good.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle@Home. Milk chocolate and light lactic aroma. Black colour, beige small head, fair lace. Sweet, very lactic, almost citric, chocolate, light bitter, short finish with a hint of coffee. Bit thinnish and unbalanced. Doesn’t even come close to a Porter.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
aroma displays some roasted malt and some sweetness with a hint of sweet maltiness and a hint of licorice. pours black and opaque with a tan head that disipated rather quickly and just lingers slightly on the edges of the glass. flavor is rather subtle, espcially for a dark beer. flavor has some carmel flavor, much the same as Amparo by the same brewery. Flavor also displays some roast, but not much, i think because the body is too thin. There is also a hint of smokiness on the back of the tongue. The body of this beer is much to thin, and kind of takes away from the beer as a whole. The beer finishes with a bitter smokiness. An alright beer.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle conditioned, 330ml. Dark brown, ruby with light tan head. Good dark roasted flavours in a slightly thinnish body, rather like an English Mild rather than a Porter. Fruity, blackberry on a sweetish body. Plenty of fruit and malt in the finish, a very accomplished beer.

3.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Toasted dark malt, Twizzlers, brown sugar, neutral fruits. Chocolate and a bit of creamy coffee. Dark black-brown clear with thin tan lacing head. Medium-light body with mild carbonation. Starts medium sweet, with Twizzlers, anise, ’Good-n-Plenty’ licorice, and some chocolate. No acidity and no bitterness, with a mild sweet roasted malt finish. After is mild sweet with anise and chocolate. Tastes pretty good, but overall it’s too watery to be a really good porter.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Very dark brown, nicely laced medium off-white head. Licorice, smoked sausages, anise and caramel in the aroma. BBQ roastiness. I like the aroma, I was not aware of any porter from France before facing this beer and it’s pleasant enough, much more subdued than what ratebeer considers top examples, but this is refreshing and easy drinking at the same time that it packs a decent amount of flavor. The sweet malt is well balanced by constant smoky undertones and the gentle roastiness. Anise, sweet licorice and salty finish. If only it had a bolder body, this would be a very good beer. As it stands, it’s a bit thin and watery.
