5%ABV: 50cl Brown bottle, best before Aug 2008, drank Sept 2007. Good looking lager, typical Czech pilsner colour. No aroma, just like most golden pilsner/lager beers. Fine flavours of a good quality pilsner. Nothing special about this beer except the keen price and the front label which tells me it is selected for Tesco. Good value summer beer.

50cl green bottle from Tesco. 5% abv. Pours a golden colour with a fair white head. A typical pilsner aroma with grassy hops, caramel and bready yeast. Similar flavours of caramel and bready yeast again. Quite dry to finish with moderate carbonation and an oily mouth-feel.

Bottle from Tesco in Newcastle. A pale golden lager with a malty, toffee and hoppy bitter flavour with a sweet fruity finish.

Golden lager...frothy white head..bit of lacing
Aroma of cereal, corn, cooked veg, slight skunk, poor aroma.
Taste of light malts, some bitter spicy hops, bit metallic.
Palate - soft carb, thin body. Finish - bitter, slight metallic
Overall - Slightly better than bog standard macro lager, but aroma is offputting.

50cl bottle of Coop Czech lager. Pours golden with steady bubbles and a decent head. The nose has lemon and pale malt. The taste has lemon, then maybe something herbacious followed by more pale malt. The palte is medium bodied ,with a good texture and a clean finish. Overall, this is a very nicely balanced pilsener.

Hoppy, lots of adjuncts like corn and grain with some bread. Very skunky
Golden amber with white, bubbly head & good rention.
Bread & corn, slightly sweet but contains too much grain. There is a mild bitter finish but like the smell it is a skunky one.
Smooth with good drinkability. It is light bodied and a crisp, dry finish.
Slightly below average pale lager with not much going for it other than the price.

fake Vratislav from Staropramen brewery, not from Liberec, pale to golden colour, stable white head, neutrally aroma, light sweetness, lightly bitter, poor taste, medium body, sticky, average carbonation, really bad beer

Bottled. Everything you’d expect from a Czech pils. Sweet aromatic malt and floral hoppiness, with some candy flavour aswell. Slightly bitter in the aftertaste and a good tang to finish.
