Aroma of citrus and fresh oranges. Juicy citrus flavors, with a nice foundation of wheat flavors peppery spice. Overall, quite tasty and complex. mephisto (1144), Taiwan Jan 31, 2007 pour cloudy yellow with off white head, it has citrusy aroma with hint of coriander. sweet, wheaty, and yeasty, it is textbook example of a belgian white. Firemoose15 (540), Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 17, 2007 Aroma was spicey and sour orange. Poured yellow and bubbly. Flavor was off to me yeasty and wheat but it didn’t mix well with bitterness. Palate was thin but finish left a hard boiled egg yolk taste. Oh well. jason (1620), Easton, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 2, 2007 Big ass magnum I picked up quite some time ago. Pours a cloudy golden body with decent size head. Smell is yeasty and spicey with corriander being detected. Flavor is of spice also and slightly bitter. Dry mouthfeel. weeare138 (933), Collegeville, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 27, 2006 Thanks to Jasonmech77 for breaking out this magnum bottle at the tasting...
Appears a hazed light orange with a small white head that quickly fades into a mild cap. Little speckles of lacing are left around the glass.
Smell is of dusty, spiced, pils malt, along with pepper and vanilla.
Taste is of the mentioned aromas with a mild citrusy funkiness going on.
Mouthfeel beads off the tip of the tongue to a chalky, dry finish.
Overall, it’s not what I had expected from a witbier. hopdog (5527), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 22, 2006 Big ass magnum bottle shared courtesy of jasonmech77 . Poured a medium and cloudy yellow color with a small sized white head. Aromas of lemon peels, oranges, and yeast. Tastes of citrus with some spices. muzzlehatch (4427), Burlington, Vermont, USA Dec 3, 2006 33 cl bottle (Bello Vino, Ann Arbor MI, August 2006) served at cellar temperature in a Corsendonk glass. Hazy-oily gold complexion, a moderate snowy cap leaves thick lace as it falls....sweet orange, perfumy floral scents (lilac and perhaps nightshade), mint and some bready notes dominate the lovely aroma, as it warms a hint of allspice surfaces and it turns sweeter overall....the body is juicy, a touch cidery with some sourdough-vinegar notes, lime-orange citric notes showing up towards the finish, which is highly carbonated and faintly metallic....this surprised me, I really found it complex and interesting, not at all the typical Wit or the so-so experience that most people have had.
