UPDATED: NOV 22, 2005 Hazy orange pour with a fluffy white head....poured into a tulip. Very acidic/citrus(orange lemon grapefruit) taste that was well carbonated shocking me first into thinking I had bought a pure ingredient fanta...wanna fanta? A tart like finish. Not too shabby for a refresher but the boobies on the label would expect more i say..MORE

Hazy, light golden with decent white head. A lot of sediment, so a careful pour is recommended. Orange aroma and flavour, refreshing and unusual. Not much bitterness, more sour than sweet though ending bitter-sweetish. An exciting wheat beer with orange peel domination.

Bottle. Hazy golden colour with a medium off-white head. Fruity citrus aroma and a light sour taste. Medium body and a sour finish.

UPDATED: APR 4, 2006 This is a very special re-tasting for me. After a horrible rating of 0.6 last September, I received an apology email from the brewer of Vuuve explaining that there had been an infection at the brewery and he offered to send me a replacement. I agreed but didn’t think much more of it. Then on Christmas Eve a small package arrived and, sure enough it was a new bottle of Vuuve. I thought this was just about the best example of pride in ownership I had ever seen. The bottle poured a slightly hazy (bottle conditioned) light apricot colored beverage with almost no head but what there was of it was white and persisted throughout leaving good lacing on the glass. The aroma was spicy at first. It was somewhat peppery with notes of coriander and orange and sour lemon peel. The body was light with lively carbonation and a dry, astringent mouthfeel. The flavor started off sour and stayed that way through the medium finish. The finish was light and crisp and there was a slight alcohol warmth.

Big C Liquors, Winter Park, Fl. - 11.2 oz bottle. Murky, cloudy, light orange appearance, thin, white head. Aroma has an industrial, soap like quality to it - with a hint of lemon. Some coriander and orange flavors are picked up, but there is an underlying funkiness to it that cannot be shook. The funkiness affects the aftertaste as well, The spiciness is noted, just not done right in this one. Had hopes for this one.

Light sweet witbier. Very citrusy to the point of beign a little overpowering. A very solid beer with a bizarre little label.

(Bottled, no BBE date) Opaque orange-golden color with almost no head. Very spicy (coriander, ginseng, orange, honey) aroma. Slightly tart and quite acidic, lemon-orange-grapefruit-spicy flavor with an intrusive ginseng(?) taste. Light to medium-bodied, acidic and fizzy-carbonated palate. Something like a mix of 50% Ukrainian witbier, 25% Swaf! and 25% Berliner Weisse. Definitely interesting, but overdone in a way it’s not that pleasant to drink anymore. Not your average refreshing-terrace-wit, for sure.

Surprising, unique, and pretty good. Coriander aroma is restrained. Cloudy amber color, foamy head. The flavor was the real surprise here, with a nicely refreshing tartness that mad this very pleasant while I was outside grilling on a hot August evening. There’s a fair amount of orange citrus flavor throughout this, reminiscent of the Hitachino Nest White but more balanced and less offensive. This reminds me of a hybrid between traditional witbier, the Nest White and a Berliner Weisse.
