Ungstrup (11148), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jun 13, 2007 Handbottled, at RBESG 2006. An unclear orange beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of minerals amongst them sulphur, but also with strong notes of straw. The flavor is sweet and also with very strong notes of minerals, but also light notes of grass, leading to a slightly acidic and dry finish, which also has some notes of straw lingering around. Very interesting. motelpogo (4111), Plzen, Czech Republic Feb 5, 2007 on tap at the brewhouse. amberish colour with a huge persistent head. very fresh aroma of red berry and menthol. a little bit of funk but from looking at the brewroom it’s amazing there wasn’t more. slightly sticky but a decent amount of bitterness and some cheesy sourness and all up pretty original and it works. many thanks to the family for their hospitality, it was a great afternoon. i took a big plastic bottle of the stuff to gothenburg for rbesg06 but 10 days of travel had taken their toll and the freshness was gone. but at the brewhouse this was really delicious duff (5405), Sydney, Australia, Surrey, England Oct 9, 2006 Bottle (handbottled). This was extremely interesting. Some nice estery peach and citrus characters, with some nice subtle spicyness. Some caramel. Some lightly tart characters towards the end make it quite refreshing. This was my firsy experience of Lithuanian farmhouse brews, and its got me a little excited to try a few more. strings (325), Sydney, Australia Oct 8, 2006 Fresh as fresh draught served by the good family themselves. Very rich, very unfiltered, so much flavour. Citrus and berry in there. Deliciously sour. Beautiful dark gold appearance. Possible bias due to having fresh strawberries picked from the garden for us as an accompaniment. gunnfryd (2743), Kristiansand, Norway Oct 8, 2006 Bottle at RBESG-06, GTN. Orange/golden colour with an off-white head. Aroma is fruit, malt, hop. Flavour is fruit, citrus, malt, hop.
