355cl bottle, BB 05/05/2013, courtesy of Cuso. Comes in a transparent glass bottle with questionable reflective silver label. Pours a near-opaque ruby-brown. Aroma is immediately sugary and sedated. The sticky sweetness is almost overwhelming ("tentacular" is a spectacular match, as the sweetness tracks down every synaps of the sensory system to hold and smother it), but balanced Instantly by an equally stark, medicinal bitterness of burnt malts, chicory root, Wycam’s and Ricola cough drops...
Hard to finish a whole, consciously calory-laden bottle of, but due to the +7% a step up from Störtebeker’s corrosively sweet dishwasher’s Hanse-Porter yesterday...

draught at Zly Casy. Deep black, creamy beige head. Aroma of roasetd malts and chocolate. Quite sweet and malty, with chocolate, shy hints of coffee and raisins.

My Bottom Line:
Lactose-like sweetness meets roasted and caramel malts in this silky, pastry-like Tmavé Specialni.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A slice of foam sits atop the dark brown.
-That is one intense aroma!
-Sweetness can get overbearing after a few sips.
-Roasted malt bitterness lingers nicely, attempting to balance out the tentacular sugars.

On tap at Zly Casy (02/03/13). Clear very dark brown pour with white head. Aroma is perfectly reminiscent of crčme brulée, sweet, lactose, caramelized sugar, burnt grain. Taste of crčme brulée, very roasty, some fruity notes, very sweet but not without a bitter roasty finish. Palate is silky, very sweet, full bodied and light carb. Unusual, not necessarily bad but a tad cloying.

Keg at Zly Casy. Pours dark Brown with an off white head. Syrupy sweet. Slight coffee and chocolate with booze. Like a chocolate liqueur. Far too sweet for my liking.

Red-brown porter. Caramel, liquerica and fernet herbs nose. Sweet taste. Medium body, oily texture, medium carbonation. Sweety caramel bonbons palate. Hay, bitter herbs, liquerica bonbons. EPM 20 - simmply heavy metall! Sweet finish. B@H

On tap at Pivovarsky Klub. Dark brown with a firm and lasting off-white head. The malty aroma has toffee and breadcrust, some brown sugar and a touch of diacetyl. Very sweet toffee and caramel flavour with molasses and brown sugar, slightly roasted with a touch of pine and a mild bitter finish. Too sweet for me, but true to the Baltic/Finnish examples of the style

Tap @ Zly Casy, Prague. Pours dark brown with a small creamy head. Very sweet nose and flavor. Rye-bread, caramel, dark burnt sugar. Fynsk brunsviger. Sweet and sticky.

Bottle. Clear dark ruby-brown colour. Aroma fruity, higher alcohol. Taste sugary, caramel, fruity. Warm, higher ABV evident, though not unpleasant. I enjoyed it, though it is nothing exceptional. A bit too sugary.
