THX! for the bottle. Polished of about half of a 500 ml. bottle @ Delirium Cave. BBF 20/02/2014. Pours a reddish dark brown with a mocha head. Smells pretty sweet with plenty of syrup, chocolate & heavy on sweet herbs. Taste is same, sweet, brown sugar, syrup, distinct iron, chocolate, bitter grounds, faint charcoal, slightly milky. Easy to drink. No one seemed to like it, I thought that even if it was not earth shattering that it was a pretty solid Dunkel never the less.

Thick, very dense & fine cream-coloured head; reddish deep mahogany colour. Again diacetyl (and lots of it), but with the melanoidineish/chestnut aroma, it’s sufferable; creamy. Totally different taste, at odds with the nose: light, slightly toasted malts with a marked sourish (in the best way) presence. Bit malty, brown German (Czech?) style bread. Feels better bodied than it probably is. Long sweetish - indeed - chestnut aftertaste. Good tmavy, the diacetyl only perceptible in the nose. Worth trying.

Courtesy of ruprecht_007, huge thanx!!!
The beer in the glass is deep black and opaque, with a high, soapy off-white head. It smells restrained malty-sweet, slightly chocolaty and caramelly. Starts with a lot of coffee and chocolate, paired with caramel and subtle roasted bitterness in the background. The middle part shows some milk sugar, paired with coffee and chocolate, subtly understated bitterhoppy. Goes into a dark malty finish with milk sugar, coffee and a delicate bitterness!
