2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
(On tap). My notes say this beer has a ’hoppy, weird skunky/creamy-lactic’ aroma. Perhaps this is the caramel everybody is talking about..... For some reason I didn’t notice. Clear, light amber coloured with a short, off-white head. Hoppy, moderate bitter, malty and ’lactic’ taste. Bit dry beer, but fresh. Not really my thing.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: JAN 23, 2006 Quite like the colour but that is a far as it goes I reckon. Tastes like a mid strength, notes of caramel and/or butter, small amount of bitterness right at the very end.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Orangey amber xtal clear with a medium small bubbled off white head and medium ragged lace. Malty bread and caramel, plus a hint of stale canal water and conditioned British ale aroma. Medium light smooth body. Mild bitter start moving to maltier sweeter middle. You keep thinking you are going to get a hoppy zingy lift somewhere but it never comes. Finish is on the weak side with a touch of that brit pub ale feel to it again. Actually that is kinda interesting in itself. Hummm. . . is it better than the Starobrno Cerveny Drak. Probably yes.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Orange colour, good bubbly head, quite lasting. Caramel and flour in the aroma. The beer has this strange, but good bread taste and then roasted malts and sweetness (caramel). The finish is too weak, not enought bitter, a bit watery. Refreshing, perfect for a sunny day in spring.
