Deep brown cloudy color. Aroma is mostly of malts with a nice smoked scent as well. Taste has a nice malty, chocolate, smoked taste. Leaves a nice and smooth aftertaste. A pretty nice brew for Wachusett. I am also the only person to have rated this many beers from Wachusett. I’m happy to take over sole possession of first for most beers rated by this brewer.

bottle. Pours black with an off-white head. Nose is of coffee and ash. Taste is of coffee and cola. Mouthfeel is thin and watery with carbonation noticeable.

Great porter. A perfect pour with a nice thick head. This puppy tastes wonderful...coffee tones, maybe even some toffee sweetness. I didn’t notice the overt bitterness that other raters did.

The dark brew and tan head fool you a bit as this is a mild, well-behaved porter with light roasty and milk chocolate notes in the nose and taste. Good by itself, will get overwelmed by strong food flavors.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Deep mahogany with a thick creamy tan head. Moderately heavy carbonation. Superb aroma of dry nuts, roasted malts, chocolate and grassy hops. Thin body, disappointing, but loaded with flavor. Dry walnut skins, roasted chocolate malts and light bitter hops. Dry, earthy and mellow as it sits. Lingering hop flavor. Finishes a little thicker, chocolatey with a black malt twang. Very well made.

Poured a 12 oz bottle into a pint glass to drink. The beer had a dark copper-brown color with a deep red hue and a thin, creamy tan head with little retention but good cling. Its aroma featured caramel and chocolate malt with a bit of earthy and grainy hops too. It tasted sweet with a chocolate flavor mixed with some caramel and a bit of bitterness too. The beer was fairly wet and slightly creamy with good fizz and liveliness, though a tad thin and light in the mouthfeel.

trade from MaBeer1972 -thanks! not much aroma; dark black w/minimal head; great first taste, but just ok after that - a little watery but an OK porter nice, nothing overpowering.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Has a very dark brown color with moderate carbonation and a roasted, almost sweet, malt smell. Taste of roasted malt with a little coffee in there as well and finishes moderately bitter. Overall one of the better beers from this brewery, but it is not my favorite porter.

Tap. Dark brown black with some head. Decent hop and chocolate aroma. Body is a little thin for a porter, taste somewhat bland, nothing too special.

Really tasty porter. Deep brownish black, with a tan head. The rough edges on this beer only serve to enhance the flavor with me. Very roasty and malty, with an above average hop character. Easily my favorite local-brewed porter.
