michaeltrego (101), Amherst, New Hampshire, USA Apr 22, 2004 I really enjoyed this brew. The mouthfeel and aroma were a perfect match, making for a very drinkable beer. Darker and little more bitter than most porters. faroeviking (4124), Faroese Beer Republic union of, Denmark Feb 9, 2007 Bottle. Deep dark brown almost black colour with a nice big creamy long lasting light brown head. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate and roasted coffee. Flavour is smooth, fresh and bit creamy, great roasty maltiness, tasty dark chocolate, tasty roasted coffee, medium sweetness, good bitter hoppiness. Bitter roasty finish. Very tasty brew indeed! ToadMan (552), Alexandria, Virginia, USA Aug 10, 2002 Nice dark color with a frothy head. Roasted chocolate is the predomintate taste with a nice hoppy bitterness, a very good porter from a very good brewery. Re-rate: Had this beer again and was more impresed than before, very rich malty aroma and taste, I agree with Volgon that there is a harsh aftertaste that detracts a little, but still a very good beer. Yeastmaster (44), USA Aug 31, 2003 An Oprah Winfrey porter: thick, rich, smooth, and black. Like a Macanudo cigar without the smoky aftertaste. A noticably bitter endtaste, but not at all unpleasant or intolerable. A wonderful porter. VENOM (941), Connecticut, USA Apr 2, 2002 Deep mahogany with a thick creamy tan head. Moderately heavy carbonation. Superb aroma of dry nuts, roasted malts, chocolate and grassy hops. Thin body, disappointing, but loaded with flavor. Dry walnut skins, roasted chocolate malts and light bitter hops. Dry, earthy and mellow as it sits. Lingering hop flavor. Finishes a little thicker, chocolatey with a black malt twang. Very well made.
