lemasney (244), Trenton, New Jersey, USA Apr 15, 2008 moderate malty flavor of dark bread, cereal, roasted nuts, molasses. Smooth with a rough bitter finish. Heavy hop flavor, of pine, grapefruit, resin, and lime. moderate yeast flavors of soap and dough. Other flavors include raisin, pear, cherry, red wine, oak, soy, pepper, alcohol, and solvent. A fizzy, off white excellent head is mostly lasting, with a sparkling body of amber, orange and red. lightly sweet, but heavily acidic and bitter. very sour, with a long duration. medium, dry, creamy fizzy mouthfeel. Astringent and alcoholic. What a wonderful beer. walrus (13), USA Feb 26, 2004 I don't like IPA's ....except for a couple that neutralize the over-emphasis on hops by countering with sweeter malts, etc., which this doesn't do. It features the hops. But the choice of hops, perhaps, or just the richness of the overall product, in spite of featuring the hops, has won me over. And my IPA drinking friends like it, too! Wachusett is a quality product ... that doesn't hurt. Braudog (3467), Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates Sep 23, 2007 Bottle -- Poured a surprisingly pale golden amber with a giant cratered foam head. The aroma is peppery right off the bat, but the beer drinks much more mellow than the olfactory glands might suggest. Yet this is a flavorful brew, full of spicy hoppiness, rich malt backdrop, and a light floral herb flourish to wrap it all up. This would be great with Asian ... sweet and sour, fried rice, or garlic chicken. Nice. (#3108, 9/23/2007) sandoz (7), revere, Massachusetts, USA does not count Apr 18, 2008 NIcey Nicey IPA with Flavor.Reminds of a dry hopped ale.VVerry tastey a must for IPA fans.Grapefruit, nice balance ,sweet and hoppy. Now available in 12 packs(SWEET)
Moderate lacing, nice foam, and a sweet overall finish. NateDawg (12), Arlington, Massachusetts, USA Oct 23, 2003 Updated: Nov 5, 2003The hop nose is perhaps my favorite part of this beer. It has a fresh, crisp flavor that leaves a slight but appealing drynes on the palate. The beer's body isn't too heavy (perhaps a bit too light for some style-ophiles), but it allows the hop nose and flavor to stand out. This has fast become one of my favorite every day beers.
