Trade from Phatdog1 - thanks! Hazy reddish orange, thin head. faint aroma of citrus, cinnamon, and some other spices. Flavor is woody hops, fairly sweet caramel, and Some fruity notes. BB 02/08/2013, drank on 02/24/2013, so the hops may have faded a bit. Still good, though.

Poured from a 22oz bomber into a Lawson’s tulip. Opaque orange/amber in color with a small white head from a gentle pour. Smells of grapefruit, sweet malts, a bit of butterscotch, and slight orange peel. Taste is grapefruit up front followed by some resin and pine. Well balanced with a slight malt backbone. Alcohol is well hidden. This is an enjoyable local DIPA. Would buy again for $6.

A fine, fluffy head atop a dark gold-tan pour. The aroma is rich and penetrating, with pine and floral notes. The taste is likewise full of hops, but it is a soft take on an imperial IPA - there are flavors of bee pollen, English-style hops, wildflowers, and a little yeast. Real good.

Pours a three-finger white head that fades slowly leaving a good lace. Crystal clear amber color. Good carbonation and medium bodied. Nose is grapefruit hops, flavor is an improvement over the 2009 brewing, some grapefruit less bitterness, more caramel, higher ABV helps (7.5 vs 8.5%). $6.45 for a 22oz bottle from Bert’s Better Beers Hooksett, NH

Bomber poured into a pint glass. Thick opaque yellow appearance. Big fluffy white head. Minimal scent of floral hops. Flavor of citrus, malt is evident. Finishes with pine and bitterness. Expected a bit of sweetness, not present at all. Larry is a serious, hoppy dude.

Bottle. Poured a medium and hazy amber color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of citrus, pine and a big amount floral hops. Tastes of floral hops, citrus, some toastiness, grass, and light caramel. I really enjoyed this one.

22 oz bottle into a goblet. Pours golden hay with a nice little white foam that fades to a film with medium lacing. Aroma is big and citrusy with a tinge of bubblegum. Taste is orange and bubblegum at first with a bit of grapefruit then finishes with pine and bitterness. Really liking this. Very well balanced, manages to be big and hoppy without being overly sweet.

Took a chance on this one. Purchased from Leary’s for exactly $6. Pours a nice copper orange with a fluffy white head two fingers in length. Smells predictably of sweet malt, pine and grassy hops, and yeast. Even with my nose stuffed up this badly I can still smell its maltiness. Yeah, this one’s definitely a malty DIPA. Starts with notes of orange peel, malt, vanilla, pine needles and booze. From there it’s hinting at plastic, onions and peanuts. Ends somewhat sour. Unremarkable but drinkable nonetheless. Wachusett has a reputation for that.

Poured from a bomber into my Founders snifter. Got this guy as an extra in a trade (Thanks Gushue!). Best by: September 2011 A: Pours a wonderful amber with lighter hued orange edges. Nice 1 finger pure white head with not very much retention, even with a vigorous pour. The ripple-effect from the lace was also very nice on the drink’s way down. S: The smell is not as pungent as I would like, but I’m still picking up hints of grapefruit and some pine-like hops. T: The light bitter fruit hits you up front then fades back down to mellow oaky bitterness. The finish is a little less than stellar with sort of a woody and light pine finish. M: Medium to light bodied with an oily finish that leads to semi-bland finish. The palate is struggling to cling to some semblance of taste, but it’s failing. O: While the brew was very refreshing and an excellent kick start I’m afraid it fell a little flat at the end. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 07-18-2011
