COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
LARRY was originally brewed this summer for the Publick House’s Hop Head Throwdown. David -- owner of the Publick House -- It was such a success in growlers here and at the Publick House, that we brewed another batch to go to speciality accounts. We’ll be putting it in 22’s in March 85 IBUs 5-hops (Simcoe, Magnum, Amarillo, Cascade, Chinook)

Should have checked the bottle date before picking this up. Marked September 2011. Ouch. Even with the age, this was enjoyable. Honey colored pour with a small eggshell head that left a spot or two. Aroma filled with caramel and toffee along with some bright citrus. Simlar flavor with no real crisp, eye crossing, or aggressive hops poking through. With age, it’s average. Fresh, it’s likely exceptional. Unfortunately, sampling the former. Will have to return to this.

bottle shared by some dude named "hammer." pleasant, bright kiwi fruit, pineapple, tangerine hop profile. quite fruity, but a juicy fruit, not a melony sweet dough fruit. taste is a dank, toasted toffee. bitter resin. slight booze. real nice. liked quite a bit.

Draft @ Yard House, Dedham, MA. Served in a pint. Excellent full white and lace real well down the glass. Nose is a ton of fruity hops, grapefruit, tangerine and citrus rind. Flavors of biscuit malt, grapefruit, light orange zest and light earthiness with a smooth, lingering moderately bitter finish. I like the flavors here. Maybe not enough bitterness for the killer hop heads but…. I really like the malt / hop balance. Glad to have found this on draft, real drinkable.

Cask. Pours a pale gold with minimal head. The flavors are not very pronounced. Mild flavor and low carbonation from the cask. OK but not great.

Bottle… Cloudy golden ale with a small, creamy, white head. Good retention. The nose is of bready malts and fuzzy golden fruits with a hint of resin. Full-bodied and velvety with moderate carbonation. The flavor presents malty sweetness flanked by heavy, fruity bitterness and a touch of honey. Finishes bittersweet. Bottle courtesy of growler!

My parents brought this one from Rhode Island, may have been on the shelf a bit. I say this because it smells and tastes more malty than expected, some of the hops have definitely dropped off. It pours golden orange amber with white head. The aroma has some perfumey hops and sweet malts. The flavor is similar, with a bitter but palatable hop profile on the backend.

22 oz bomber into a shaped pint glass. Best before December 2011. Purchased in a gas station cooler... A - Dark amber body with a lot of carbonation. Dirty soapy light khaki head. S - Piney hops with some savory elements...I can pick up some dank onions. Floral and malty with just a hint of grapefruit. I really prefer fruitier IIPA’s. T - Very dank and dark. Lots of biscuity malts and caramel. The hops seem fairly faded and in the background but threes still a decent amount of bitterness. Pretty average. Mouth feel is medium with a good level of carbonation. O - I was not impressed with this one. I’ve always heard good things about this local IIPA, and it took me a while to finally grab one. This just isn’t doing it for me, very average and boring.
