COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
LARRY was originally brewed this summer for the Publick House’s Hop Head Throwdown. David -- owner of the Publick House -- It was such a success in growlers here and at the Publick House, that we brewed another batch to go to speciality accounts. We’ll be putting it in 22’s in March 85 IBUs 5-hops (Simcoe, Magnum, Amarillo, Cascade, Chinook)

Bottle… Cloudy golden ale with a small, creamy, white head. Good retention. The nose is of bready malts and fuzzy golden fruits with a hint of resin. Full-bodied and velvety with moderate carbonation. The flavor presents malty sweetness flanked by heavy, fruity bitterness and a touch of honey. Finishes bittersweet. Bottle courtesy of growler!

My parents brought this one from Rhode Island, may have been on the shelf a bit. I say this because it smells and tastes more malty than expected, some of the hops have definitely dropped off. It pours golden orange amber with white head. The aroma has some perfumey hops and sweet malts. The flavor is similar, with a bitter but palatable hop profile on the backend.

22 oz bomber into a shaped pint glass. Best before December 2011. Purchased in a gas station cooler... A - Dark amber body with a lot of carbonation. Dirty soapy light khaki head. S - Piney hops with some savory elements...I can pick up some dank onions. Floral and malty with just a hint of grapefruit. I really prefer fruitier IIPA’s. T - Very dank and dark. Lots of biscuity malts and caramel. The hops seem fairly faded and in the background but threes still a decent amount of bitterness. Pretty average. Mouth feel is medium with a good level of carbonation. O - I was not impressed with this one. I’ve always heard good things about this local IIPA, and it took me a while to finally grab one. This just isn’t doing it for me, very average and boring.

This bottle (22) was courtesy of Strukzone. Pours amber with a fat off-white head and lots of lacing rings. Nose of lightly roasted mats and some flavor and citrus fruit hops. The body is robust and the mouthfeel smooth and clean The flavor is caramel malts with lots of tasty hops, and the finish is dry and lightly bitter. Very enjoyable beer.

Location: 22 oz bottle from Grand Cru in Rhinebeck - 10/2/11

Aroma: The nose is mostly hoppy, some resin, grass, and pine notes, plus a little crackery malts
Appearance: This one pours a mostly clear dark orange color with a foamy and lacy white head
Flavor: The taste has some cracker and biscuit malts, to go along with the grass, pine, and resiny hops
Palate: The body is medium, the carbonation is soft,it has a sticky, resiny mouthfeel, and a long dry finish
Overall Impression: Overall, this is a pretty good DIPA. It may even be a little underrated based on the rest of the reviews I’m seeing. Honestly, it is fairly on style, and fairly well-made. I like this one. The resiny, sticky sweetness works pretty well for my palate.

Bottle at Craft Beer Co tasting, thanks to Leighton. It pours deep orange, with a thick off-white head. The nose is sweet tangerine, orange, mango, apricot, orange sherbet, leather and resin. The taste is orange, tangerine, mango, lemon pith, pine, resin, leather and alcohol warmth, with a bitter-sweet citrus finish. Medium body, fine carbonation and foamy mouth-feel. Tasty and easy drinking.

Well above-average for an east coast IPA in my mind, since it’s pretty dry and hoppy without being overly bitter. Nice citrusy flavor.

Bottle at 1st CBC Sunday Tasting. Pours a clear amber with a big, white head. Strong resinous pine aroma, some sweet toast, hints of grapefruit. Very sweet flavor, toasted bread, some brown sugar, pine, cake. Full bodied with average carbonation. Finishes mildly warm with oily resins, pine, sweet grapefruit and hints of melon. Very drinkable. I love it.

Appearance: Pours a hazy yellow gold with a small white head.

Aroma: Pineapple and pine.

Taste: Bitter hops citrus grapefruit pineapple. Fairly sweet malt holding the hops in place.

Mouthfeel: Lively carbonation, full bodied.

Overall: Solid. Alcohol is super hidden, then again it’s only a 7.4% abv. IIPA.

Tap @ Trinity Brewery. Hazy copper with thin head. Grassy, earthy hop aroma. Dry, hoppy. Light citrus with tartness. Bitterness last long after finish. Very solid.
