Dark brown in color with a small head. Opens with roasted malt and mild coffee aromas. The nose is kind of bland and uninteresting. Maybe a light lactose sweetness and chocolate. The flavor is also pretty bland. Some coffee, toffee, roasted malt, and just a hint of lactose. Very minimal chocolate, too. Just mediocre at best.

Bomber from Nikki’s, Providence. Pours a clear very dark brown color with a large creamy brown head. Good head retention. Aroma of lactose, toasted malts, nuts and faint roasted malts. The taste is big milky notes and roasted malts. Some faint nuts and honey. Mild hop bitterness. Medium bodied.

Bomber. Pours a dark bruin body with a tan head and poor head retention. Aromatic character is chocolate malt, a tough of bitter coffee rinds, and light lactose. Sweet a bit oily bitter sweet hints of licorice, birch, coffee, and chocolate malt tones. A bit sweet with a spicy carbonation that bite at the tongue. Decent.

22 oz bottle. Pours a clear dark brown body with a one inch frothy light brown head. The nose is roasty and burnt malt with a slight sour lactic twang. Pretty nice flavor, not over the top with the lactose, just a nice sweetness toward the finish. Up front it’s actually pretty dry and roasty, with some light cocoa notes. Lighter bodied with fizzy carbonation. Some lingering lactose sweetness. Pretty decent beer, not a stand out, but very drinkable.

Pours black with a garnet pinpoint. Mocha head with excellent retention recedes leaving spot lacing. Roasted chocolate aromas. Creamy with smoky chocolate covered nuts from front to back into a lasting finish.

Molasses, new plastic, unmalted barley aroma. Cola brown, medium yellow head. Tobacco flavor with hints of molasses but dry. Fizzy. Unrecognizable as a milk stout, but tasty.

22oz bottle from City Market Onion River Co-Op in Burlington, VT. Pours a very deep brown, mostly black colored body with a bit of a reddish hue around the edges. Finger-width, dense and creamy, brown head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is pretty sweet with a lot of lactose, a moderate roast, and some dark and milky chocolates. Some dark fruits in there as well. Flavor is better, but still has a ton of lactose sweetness to it. Some creamy, milky, dark chocolates with a medium roast to balance along with a bit of a dark fruitiness. Some vanilla comes out towards the end before this finishes sweet and dry with a light, roasty bitterness. Lengthy aftertaste with a bit of a charred note coming out following a creamy, medium-light body and a soft, moderate carbonation. Overall, this wasn’t bad, but it had a bit too much lactose sweetness for me. Some nice, creamy chocolate notes and a decent roast backing, but not much else. Eh.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 hayduke (2933) - Eureka, California, USA - JUL 28, 2011
Courtesy of trade bottle from Strykzone. This poured a dark brown just short of black with a foamy tan head and nice lacing rings. Nose of chocolate malts, mild coffee, and some ripe mild fruit. Medium in body with smooth creamy mouthfeel. Flavor is tasty, with chocolate, coffee, and some floral hops. Sweet finish moving to light bitterness. Very easy to drink, and makes you wish for more.

Relatively recently traded bottle. Nice dark brown pour with a big, foamy brown head. Nice aroma of roasted malt and a hint of coffee with sugar. Maybe a little thin on flavor. More roasted flavors and definitely finishes sweeter though. Fine.
