Cereal malt aroma with some fruit notes--red apple skin and grape. Cereal/caramel malty flavor with a sweet/tart fruity background. Mild hop finish. Clean, fresh and balanced with lively carbonation. Nice sessionable bottled ale. hopscotch (5475), Vero Beach, Florida, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 19, 2005 Bottle... Quinn’s Amber Ale?... Clear, deep amber ale with a small, creamy, off-white head. Notes of caramel and light milk chocolate in the nose. Sweet, rich, malty flavor. Hopped sparingly... just right for the style. Medium-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Leaves a lightly sweet coating on the palate. Grassy at the wee end. I really enjoyed this brew... looks like I’m one of the few. Thanks to growler for the bottle! | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jul 11, 2005 Aroma is kind of sweet and caramelly. I also get some roastiness and a mild metallic smell eminating from this. Transparent copper-amber color with a tan/yellowish head. Tons of toasted malts with virtually no hops. I get a lot of cereal. Cheerios namely. Pretty one-dimensional and bland, but I guess that’s par for the style. Not a bad beer, just boring. Pigfoot (2226), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 22, 2005 Clear amber color, nearing crimson...thin coverage of cream-toned fuzz above.
Aroma, rich and malty, sweetness, herbal and fruity.
Nice, if brief, hops at the front, then disappearing, evaporating, fading, along with the body. Begins medium, then bottoms out. Malt dominated, crisp on the palate, but disappointing after the hoppy introduction. A passable Irish Ale for the "punters" in the crowd, (the label for this one calls it an Amber Ale, not an Irish, though).but...alas, not grabbing me. cfranz (261), Acton, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 1/5 | 14/20 | Oct 3, 2004 I am not a fan of Irish Style Ales, probably the after-effect of too much Killian’s in college. But I was quite surprised by this brew. I am a fan of Wachusett brewery, and this beer did not disappoint. The beer had a very nice drinkability factor - lightly hopped, slight metallic taste, but in a good way. DrGonzo (625), Somerville, Massachusetts, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jun 24, 2004 Bottle. Pours an amber reddish brown, minimal head. Plenty of oats in the aroma and flavor, like that popular oaty-mc-O’s cereal. Nutty, walnuts, hazelnuts, peanuts. Weird. Chocolate and caramel too. Not so balanced. Bland at times. Harsh and sticky finish, the worst part of the brew. Finish is like raisin bran too, that’s not so bad. Hmmm. BBB63 (4228), La Porte, Indiana, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Apr 20, 2004 Amber hued with small fizzy head and no lace. The aroma hints of dusty yeast, buttery and caramel roasted malts, wildberry, and floral hops. The taste is somewhat fruity and malty with an off metallic and papery tones. Some acidic nature and peppery undertones, but they are unable to improve the overall taste. The mouthfeel is soft, metallic, and finished chalky. This is another bland amber ale, not recommended.
