2004 Draft @ black cow in Hamilton MA. Pours a nice enough ruddy reddish-orange a bit on the lighter side, with some light haziness. Good thick cream colored head. Smells of caramel and hops. Flavor is pretty basic, similar to Smithwicks, though not as much hops, quite malty and sweet, good caramel flavor but nothing really stands out that is terribly interesting. Medium body.

Bottle: Ok nose, straw, carmel, some orange, dough on the aroma. Reddish orange color decent head that faded to nothing, though I kinda dumped this one out so it made a big head. Sweet and sour, carmel, sourdough, nutty flavor. Thin easy drinking. A little hops shows up at the end. Middle of the road overall.

Light amber in color with a medium sized white head. Aroma of earthy hops and yeast, with a subtle malt charcater. Flavor is all malt with a bready/biscuity, almost nutty charcater,Victory malt? Sweet malt upfront finishing slightly drier, but still with some sweetness at the end. Mild hop character and bitterness throughout.

Hop heads and Bud drinkers will hate it. Amber/Red type, sweet but not sissy. Balanced, rich, smooth. Not too strong. Bread-like. Good year round, so stash a case.

12 oz bottle. Clear, light red-orange. Malty-sweet nose, hints of apple. Boring, moderately sweet flavor, no acid and little hops, a bit thin. Next...

I've had this one both on tap and bottled. Certainly better on tap (what beer isn't?). Decent brew overall, but nothing incredible.

Nice reddish-orange hue. Malty bread aroma, small head, slight lacing. Medium bodied, nice malts on palate, nice mouthfeel. Sour, quick finish. Nothing special, wouldnt ever buy it, but i spose its worth a taste.

Re-rate on tap at Wachusett mountain: This stuff was actually good. Has a nice malted flavor with a slihtly bitter finish. Overall very good on tap, but horrible in the bottle. Old rating 6/10/2002: Has a nice red/orange color and malted smell. Taste is just nasty and also finished a bit sour. Overall I would rather have a PBR.
