hopscotch (4433), Vero Beach, Florida, USA Nov 19, 2005 Bottle... Quinn’s Amber Ale?... Clear, deep amber ale with a small, creamy, off-white head. Notes of caramel and light milk chocolate in the nose. Sweet, rich, malty flavor. Hopped sparingly... just right for the style. Medium-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Leaves a lightly sweet coating on the palate. Grassy at the wee end. I really enjoyed this brew... looks like I’m one of the few. Thanks to growler for the bottle! muzzlehatch (4425), Burlington, Vermont, USA Feb 25, 2004 12 oz bottle. Clear, light red-orange. Malty-sweet nose, hints of apple. Boring, moderately sweet flavor, no acid and little hops, a bit thin. Next... BBB63 (3767), La Porte, Indiana, USA Apr 20, 2004 Amber hued with small fizzy head and no lace. The aroma hints of dusty yeast, buttery and caramel roasted malts, wildberry, and floral hops. The taste is somewhat fruity and malty with an off metallic and papery tones. Some acidic nature and peppery undertones, but they are unable to improve the overall taste. The mouthfeel is soft, metallic, and finished chalky. This is another bland amber ale, not recommended. ClarkVV (3547), Allston, Massachusetts, USA Mar 26, 2004 2004 Draft @ black cow in Hamilton MA. Pours a nice enough ruddy reddish-orange a bit on the lighter side, with some light haziness. Good thick cream colored head. Smells of caramel and hops. Flavor is pretty basic, similar to Smithwicks, though not as much hops, quite malty and sweet, good caramel flavor but nothing really stands out that is terribly interesting. Medium body. Lubiere (3184), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada May 15, 2007 A gold amber ale with a thin white head. A light biscuity malt with light diacetyl notes. In mouth, a dry malt with fruity esters, buttery notes. A flawed ale. Tap at 11th Annual CNY Brewfest, Feb.5 2007.
