growler (74), West Virginia, USA Nov 19, 2005 12 oz. bottle. clear copper/orage with a thin, wispy tan head. Light, fruity aroma with a hint of spice. Taste can be summed up in one word, sweet. Has a sugery, carmel flavor. Summed up in one word, sweet. Not a bad beer, but a bit too sugery for my taste.
stangger (135), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 9, 2008 Dark, not quite black pour... Nose strong of caramel and alcohol. Taste is of the same. Too much of an alcohol taste for my liking, but not terrible. phishpond417 (1456), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA May 14, 2008 This tastey winter brew pours a nice cloudy amber colour with a small vanilla coloured head. nutty aroma, with a hint of caramel and cloves. another nice brew from Wachusett. changeup45 (577), Orlando, Florida, USA Apr 13, 2008 Of the two winter beers I sampled tonight, this was far better than the other (Harpoon). Pours a nice amber color with a thick head and quite a bit of lacing. Very flavorful malty taste with lots of brown sugar notes in there. Relatively warming and quite smooth. There’s also some spice, with a slightly bitter finish. Nice. DougShoemaker (2612), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Apr 3, 2008 On tap @ Coles .
Aroma of caramel, malt toffee and pit-fruit, ruby, wearing a small toffee head, some fine lace. Taste has a smoky malt, spices, red plum, apples, and humbugs. Medium to full bodied, nicely spiced, tongue tingling, warming, slightly sweet. Quite nice for the winter months.
