argo0 (6230), Washington DC, USA Dec 30, 2002 Clear deep copper body with creamy beige head. Aroma is malty, moderately sweet and fruity. Taste is malty, caramel, moderately sweet and a bit of berry. Not cloying. As it warms up, good earthy hoppiness enters in the back half of the taste. Rastacouere (5409), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Nov 15, 2004 Nice bottle-conditioned appearance with a big depot at the bottom of an orange-amber hue mounted by a light off-white head. Piercing fruit salad aroma. Totally unexpected vinous grapes and fresh orangesand mango soaked in berry juice. Add a mild alcohol kick to it and you get the picture. As rich a fruity profile as almost any other beer. Sadly, once again, the taste didn’t live up to the anticipations created by the nose. It feels a bit stale, less fruity than the aroma, not so intense with flavors that don’t interact and is ultimately cloying. Thin-medium body seems a bit tired despite a soft carbonation. At one year old, this feels a lot older. hopdog (4648), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 22, 2008 12oz bottle. Poured a deeper orange color with a reddish tint and a larger sized off white head. Aromas of toasted caramel, some cherries and berries, and nuts. Tastes of caramel, chocolate, cherries, and roast. hopscotch (4588), Vero Beach, Florida, USA Nov 19, 2005 Bottle... Clear, deep copper ale with a small, creamy, off-white head. Excellent retention. The malty nose is full of caramel and gingerbread. Malty, rich flavor. Unbalanced. Sweet, but not cloyingly so. Full-bodied and velvety with medium carbonation. Finishes fairly thin and bland. Thanks go out to growler for the bottle! muzzlehatch (4424), Burlington, Vermont, USA Feb 25, 2004 12 oz bottle. Medium-to-dark coppery complexion, smallish lasting French vanilla head. Simple but eloquent, powerful caramel nose; stunning malted-milk texture that sets off the simple, earthy sweet flavors and the dollop of finishing hops that keep the soft beer from becoming too mushy. Plummy, with hints of vanilla and cinnamon, but subtly done. So drinkable, so delcious, oh how I wish I'd bought more than one. Totally saves my opinion of this brewery; spectacular.
