Draft in MA. Rich winter brew with great malting. Body is a bit too thin and the ’scotch’ isn’t too prominent. Ends too sweet and fruity.

Bottle. Pours a dark amber with a small off-white head. Aroma of sweet malts, caramel, roast, and some nuttyness. Flavor was slightly sweet with toasted malts, caramel sweetness a touch of chocolate and a hint of smoke with a medium body and a hoppy dry finish.

12 oz bottle. Pours with a small head. Aroma is mainly made up of beavy british biscuit with a slight background of spices (cinamon and nutmeg). Taste has some malt sweetess with slight spices, very low hopped, low bitterness. Average mouthfeel and a sold medium body. A very nice beer from these brewers.

Pours a two finger cream head that fades to a thin layer leaving some lace. Clear amber color. Light-medium carbonation and medium bodied. Malty nose. Didn’t realize this was a Scottish Ale more like a brown. Mellow sweetness, some spiciness. Very drinkable. $1.42 for a 12oz bottle from Valley Liquors Methuen, MA. Best by Mar 2007.

It pours a light amber in color and has some visible carbonation seen rising in my nonic. A nice fluffy one inch white foamy head appears and lasts for about a minute before slowly dieing. The smell has some light aromas of caramel with some light spice as well. The taste is slightly sweet ranging closer to some light bitterness from the Christmas spices. The palate is medium centering on a moderate amount of carbonation on the tongue. This is fairly drinkable. It leaves a bland aftertaste. Overall, I’m not really impressed with this one, but for the style, I’d say just average.

Dark amber, large head. Aroma is English malts with caramel, earth and fruit. Medium bodied with a high carbonation. Not my favorite, but not bad either.
