Rather flat, chocolate scent, amber color tast: notes of almond finished by orange peel, missing a significant hops component

THOUGHTS: Nice and malty. Toffee. Not all that Christmasy, but a nice winter warmer. All sorts of malts. Warming. TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a medium to dark orangey amber with a large, off-white head that left good lacing. The aroma was moderate toasted, nutty, molasses and caramel malts; light chocolate; light herbal and earthy hops; apple, cherry and toffee. The initial flavor was light to moderately sweet and slightly bitter; while the finish was rather sweet, lightly bitter and slightly sour with and average to long duration. There was toffee, caramel, a little chocolate, earthy hops, some citrus and earthy hops, burnt caramel, cookies, toasted and nutty malts, cherry and apple. The medium body was a bit syrupy and then a bit dry with fizzy carbonation and a slightly metallic, slightly astringent and lightly dry finish.

Pretty good. Medium bodied and flavorful. Nice caramel malt flavor with some cinnamon. Slightly sweet, with some hops and spiciness. Well balanced and easily drinkable.

On tap @ Coles . Aroma of caramel, malt toffee and pit-fruit, ruby, wearing a small toffee head, some fine lace. Taste has a smoky malt, spices, red plum, apples, and humbugs. Medium to full bodied, nicely spiced, tongue tingling, warming, slightly sweet. Quite nice for the winter months. Thanks for Your help rudolph!

(1-year-old bottle) : Fondly nourishing tart apple syrup fondling maple syrup and earthy roastiness...This decadently euphoriant perfume harbors definite barley wine qualities but disappoints once tasted in that it doesn’t render the heavy mellowness and serene dessert tones it had promised...Fruitiness within is tired and complexity almost vanishes...I have to return to this in a fresh format just in case the aroma actually carries through...That would be a stunning beer...

Bottle. Poured a nice deep red body with nice head. Aroma is chocolate, spices, smoke. Flavor has all the above that are mentioned plus a sweet side to it. Smooth. Possibly their best.

Bottle. Copper with a cream colored head. Malty dark bread and caramel aromas. Toasty malt flavor, with some berry notes and spices. Medium/full bodied, lively mouthfeel and restrained sweetness. Not too complex or busy and overall pretty good.

A pleasant little beer that pours a nice brownish and red color with a nice tan head. Malty aroma that you know is gonna bring on the sweet taste. Taste is overall rather sweet. Medium bodied methinks. Caramel is there too I say.
