Merci Georgina ! Cannette 355 ml. 5.6%. Wadadli, Antigua Lager Beer, Premium Gold brassée par St. Vincent Brewery Limited, Kingstown, St.Vincent & the Grrenadines. Couleur jaune or, mousse blanche fugace. Arôme de maïs, un peu d’herbe. En bouche, douce, grains, Lager typique du Sud, finale assez sèche, pas d’amertume réelle. Petit goût métallique à l’entrée en bouche. Moyenne.

355ml can, thanks to Hans-Peter! "Produced for Antigua Brewery Ltd. by St. Vincent Brewery Limited, Kingstown, St. Vincent & the Grenadines". Nose is sweetish-grain. The beer, canned 3 month ago, tastes old, grainy, boring. Metallic in the aftertaste, grain, sweetish, nearly no hops.

330 ml can. Birthday Feb 13 2014 :). Clear gold, darker than it’s weaker cousin. No head. Toasted grain on the nose. Flavour doesn’t carry any of that toasted note, instead it’s a flat sweetness with some unpleasant residual sugar toward the finish and touches of paper. Bit of body to this one and bit quite as fizzy as other Caribbean lagers. Short finish, more sugary sweetness. Not a good beer.

7th April 2014 and our cruise liner docks on Antigua: we hack our way through the taxi and tour hawkers and find the local bus station and get out to Turners Beach where we found OJ’s beach bar, very cool and laid back. It was here I had my first three cans of this refreshing beer. Poured into chilled glass tankards my wife and I sat outside with the sand between our toes enjoying the view and sun. Obviously the location and mood helped to make this a fantastic memory and may well effect the notes I wrote! Anyway the truth is this is a thirst quenching ’bog standard’ lager/pilsner with nothing to set it apart from thousands like it all over the world. Bright, clean and clear golden in colour with a white head. Almost odourless and tasteless, some corn-sweet (not sweetcorn) flavouring. I actually prefered it’s weaker brother out the bottle (which I had twice before rejoining the ship).

Can: Poured a golden with carbonated huge white head. Aroma is grain. Taste is sweet grain, very refreshing on a hot day.

Le liquide est dangereusement translucide avec une mousse étrange qui s’éteint rapidement. Miel, céréales pales, un début de carton et des vieilles fleurs constituent principalement la ligne des saveurs.

Poured from a can into a plastic cup. Pours a dark, semi-hazy gold with a lazy, creamy head that dissipates quickly. Aroma consists of grainy oddness with a a sickly sweetness emanating. Tastes faintly yeasty, but mostly sugary. Quick finish and thankfully, no aftertaste.

Gold with a white cap that reduced to a bubble island that looked like the island of Antigua its self. Very east European smelling with mild skunky hops and corny malt. Taste is the same but add in some apple. Taste is dark but finishes overly sweet. Way better than I thought it would be but I wasn’t expecting anything but swill, so there you go.
