daboskabouter (1469), Fergus, Ontario, Canada Feb 25, 2007 Dark shiney auburn colour with very little fizzy white head. The nose is tinny and sweet with malt. Some alcohol gets through in the nose as well. The body is smooth and surprisingly not as sweet as I thought it would be. Hops at the beginning are pleasantly bitter but there isn’t enough malt happening to make this interesting. This is a very drinkable beer, but just not inspirational.
madquacker (505), Canberra ACT, Australia Sep 28, 2008 Reddish copper hue. Lots of fruit and sweetness. Plums and sultanas against abit of chewy grip. Respectable ale. MrAleman (112), guildford, Surrey, England Sep 24, 2008 Not as nice in a bottle as i remember from on Tap, a bit dark tasting and heavy going too. Not amazing. JoeMcPhee (3815), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Sep 20, 2008 Amber beer with a thin white head. Aroma is nicely malty with a sweet light caramel, toffee and a rich sweetness. A lovely spicy/earthy base. Quite a nice balance with a soft fruity finish. A touch of apple/pear esters and some lightly toasted malts. Lovely and rich. Spicy and fruity. Quite nice for a bottled bitter. As_a_Newt (73), blackpool, Lancashire, England Sep 11, 2008 bottled. deep horse chestnut colour mldly off white head. Flavour is caramalised toffee with a sticky feel to the mouth. not an unpleasent beer but not sure i could drink a lot of it MiP (6029), Flensburg, Germany Sep 3, 2008 Bottle, 4.3%. Clear amber colour, small white head. Caramelly flavour, good bitterness. Only a tiny hint of graininess.
