COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Regular.
Ingredients: Pale malt, Crystal malt and cane sugar; Fuggles hops (85% of total) in the copper and Goldings hops (15%) on the hop back plates.
Wadworth have been brewing 6X in their Devizes brewery for over 80 years. This delightful copper-coloured beer has a malty, fruity nose with a restrained hop character. The same characteristics emerge on the palate but with more intensity, leading to a lingering malty finish. The beer is full bodied and distinctive but with a high drinkability, ensuring its position as one of the South of England's most requested beers.

On cask at the Grosvenor. Appearance - golden with an oily haze. Nice head. Nose - lemon plus ester notes and some malt sweetness. Taste - its all a bit sweet and sour with tangy citrus notes and malt sweetness again on the finish. Palate - medium bodied with a tangy texture and a long dry but rich finish. Overall - a really interesting ale.

Cask at The Cotswold. Pours clear amber with a medium, frothy off-white head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is toast and cookie malt, dates, figs, earthy and woody hops. Flavor is sweet malt, light hops and medium bitterness with light fruits and a sweet finish. Medium to light body and medium carbonation.

11th February 2014<>Bree Louise. Wooden Cask! An old looking one at that. Hazy amber beer, sparse off white bubbles. Palate is light and smooth and semi dry. Light and tangy dried fruits. Subtle touch of vanilla, but I am looking for it. Light toffee - caramel undertone. Honey. The dominant flavour here is tangy dried fruits.

Copper pour, thin, bubbly head. Malt, fruit aroma. Standard malty bitter, with some nutty character. The flavours aren’t particularly deep... A bit of caramel sweetness in the finish. Gets the job done, but not a standout.

Mild in flavour, uninteresting but easy drinking and refreshing. Not bad if at a decent price.
