Cask, Seasonal;
This rich, ruby autumn ale is bursting with red berries and spices from the rye crystal and elderberries used, resulting in a full body which rolls gently to a crisp, decisive finish from the late addition of Cascade hops. Hops used: Bramling Cross, Cascade, Fuggles

Nov 2012 - draught. OK bitter. Apparently made with elderberry, and there was some fruitiness. Light body.

Cask at the Crosse Keys, JDW, London. Pours clear ruby with a fine, white foam head. Toasty malts, some dry orange, leafy bitterness. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Dry finish, more leaves, some toasty malts. A pretty classic British bitter, and not especially exciting.

Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms, Bristol, November 2012. Copper coloured with a slight white head. Well balanced combination of elderflower cordial, caramel and the Wadworths house yeast, culminating in a decent bitter finish. Good.

William Morris, Hammersmith 7 Nov 12. Dyp brunrød. Lavt tett skum som varer litt og fester seg til glasset. Beskjeden, litt søt frukt/plommearoma. Myk munnfølelse. Smaken litt tørr frukt med en syrlig bitter ettersmak.

Copper coloured with a malty nose, also with a malt bitter flavour. Slightly weak texture.

Cask, half-pint at JDWs William Morris in Hammersmith. Beige creamy head reduced to a tiny layer. Good lacing. Deep, ruby brown coloured body. Malt, fruit and berries to the nose. Flavoured with marmalade and mid-tart berries. Bittersweet vibe to the finish. Well bodied. Among the five best of my 43 beers at the Wetherspoons real ale festival (London, 07.11.2012).

tombyars (1204) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - NOV 19, 2012
Tasted this in the Salt Cot, Saltcoats (JDW) in November 2012. Cask, handpump dispense. Crystal clear pale copper in colour with a thin white head. Slight taint of sulphur on the short nose. Thin watery mouthfeel and good lacing throughout. Pale malk gives a short fruity base of sweet pink grapefruit but really comes up short in depth and flavour. Earthy note is present in the short bitter aftertaste but hop resins fade fast. Finish is malty with tart citric grapefruit pith note evident but unremarkable though. A poor session bitter that tastes short of 5%

[Gravity cask at Back of Beyond (JDW), Reading] Deep amber, moderate white head. Lots of straw, some lemon, a growing almond and cola flavour. Crisp bitterness balances it all in the finish. Good rich flavoursome bitter. Well done Waddys.

Cask conditioned handpump Moon On The Square Northampton 01/11/12. A reddy brown coloured beer with a white head and lace. Wadworth house yeast throughout especially in the nose.. A decent light berry fruitiness in the aftertaste which is quite nice. A reasonable beer.
