Cask at the Half Moon, Windlesham - 06/10/12. Clear amber with a thin white head. Caramel malts and a little fruit on the nose. Tastes of caramel malts, biscuit, toffee, touch of citrus. Medium bodied leading to a dry bitter finish. Quite enjoyed this one which surprised me as never been a big fan of Wadworths.

Cask. Slightly cloudy red amber ale. Steady light tan head. Nose prickly and hoppy with light lemons. Taste of lemon sweets, slightly sweet, slightly sour. Se slight light woodiness to this. Like sawdust. And a little vinegar. Nice enough with a powdery dry palate.

It is unfortunate but I rarely stumble across this on draught in pubs in S Wales. It is a wonderful, wonderful ale. Awesomely well-rounded. If you try a half, you won’t be able to leave until you’ve had a gallon!

tombyars (1348) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - MAR 12, 2012
Tasted this strong bitter in Esquire House, Glasgow (JDW) in April 2010. Cask, handpump dispense. Crystal clear pale copper in colour with a thin white head. Yeasty warm bread in the short aroma. Thin mouthfeel and poor lacing. Pale malts give a fiery, robust base with digestive biscuit flavours mixed with tart redcurrant fruit. Slight hop resins give a dry, woody, briar flavour in the aftertaste. Strong tannin oak note clear in the finish. A decent sesion bitter.

Leighton (10542) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - SEP 21, 2011
Cask at GBBF 2011, Day 3. Pours amber with a foamy head. Good sweet, toasty aroma, with light toffee notes. Good sweetness in the flavor, some more toffee. Light to medium in body with fine carbonation. Light leafy bitter finish, some toffee and ripe fruit. Good for the style.
