3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 dogbomb (632) - ENGLAND - SEP 22, 2012
Cask. Slightly cloudy red amber ale. Steady light tan head. Nose prickly and hoppy with light lemons. Taste of lemon sweets, slightly sweet, slightly sour. Se slight light woodiness to this. Like sawdust. And a little vinegar. Nice enough with a powdery dry palate.

It is unfortunate but I rarely stumble across this on draught in pubs in S Wales.
It is a wonderful, wonderful ale.
Awesomely well-rounded.
If you try a half, you won’t be able to leave until you’ve had a gallon!
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 tombyars (1204) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - MAR 12, 2012
Tasted this strong bitter in Esquire House, Glasgow (JDW) in April 2010. Cask, handpump dispense. Crystal clear pale copper in colour with a thin white head. Yeasty warm bread in the short aroma. Thin mouthfeel and poor lacing. Pale malts give a fiery, robust base with digestive biscuit flavours mixed with tart redcurrant fruit. Slight hop resins give a dry, woody, briar flavour in the aftertaste. Strong tannin oak note clear in the finish. A decent sesion bitter.

Flavour’s malty along with light hops, a hint of alcohol and a decent bitter finish. Average bodied. Good, an enjoyable beer.
