COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bright sunrise orange in color, this American IPA is boldly hopped with East Kent Goldings, Cascade and locally grown hop varieties to give an intense yet powerfully smooth bitterness. The subtle caramel maltiness only accents the citrus hop highlights. Dry hopped with an incredible 2-1/2 pounds per barrel, this American style IPA is handcrafted to be extraordinarily refreshing.

A clear, medium-golden body is crowned by a frothy, cream colored head. Honeycomb lacing marks the glass. Aromas include moderate citrus and floral hops atop a biscuity, buttery malt base. Dry, cereal grains remind me of an English style pale, more so than an American IPA. Flavors show more of the same, with weak-to-moderate floral and orange hop notes and dry, toasty, cereal grains. Medium bodied and moderately carbonated, the finish is on the dry, lightly bitter side. Overall, there’s just not a whole lot going on here. Pretty boring, actually.

(Bottle) Pours a lightly hazy copper body with a tall long-lasting aggressive rocky off-white head. Aroma of florals, herbs, and orange peel. Flavor of caramel malt, floral hops, and toasted grain.

12 oz bottle, Pours a slightly hazy orangish copper under a very large foamy beige head that took up 3/4 of my glass when I tried to pour it. On it’s way down it did leave some fine lacing. The nose is really kind of a mongrel smelling hop profile, the combo of EKG and Cascades just isn’t doing it for me. More perfumy than anything with just a touch of biscuity malt. The flavor is again, kind of mongrel. It’s certainly hoppy, but just in a very moderate generic sort of way, there’s nothing to hang your hat on here. The malt is slightly toasted and lightly caramel in nature. Mouthfeel is very over carbonated, making it feel very fizzy as it foams up when it hits the tongue. Minimal lingering bitterness on the finish. Overall, this one just didn’t do anything for me.

Copper color pour with nice white head. Nose of pine and some orange peel. Flavor is a snappy hop with a nice balance of malt. Medium body with a nice hoppy clean finish. Thanks to goldtwins for this bottle.

Sharp spicy pine with a firm caramel backbone in the nose is misleading. Sharp bitterness upfront but thin body with support from the malts. Finishes bitter and piney. A bit unbalanced.

Orange/ amber color with a small soapy white head. Aroma of hops pervades over citrus. Up front taste is citrus with a decent display of hops on the backside.

Bottle. Hazy dark orange body with a huge fluffy off-white head. Smells of pear skins, sweet oranges, and some piney hops. Prickly bitterness up front with that pear and grape skin flavour shining through. Quite bitter overall in a kind of soapy palate.

sampled at the brewery, also bought a couple of 12 oz bottles, so this may be re-rated for that version. light amber, deep orange in color. Hazy, appears to be unfiltered and dry hopped. Aroma is a nice dose of citrus, with a decent amount of caramel malts in the background. Taste is medium to full for the style, with caramel- but pretty well balanced with citrus and floral hops. Finishes lightly to moderately bitter for the style. Bitterness lingers lightly afterwards. A pretty solid straight up- session IPA.
