2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 7/20
After trying a few of Oz’s worst I opted for an offering from across the Tasman. Tasted from the bottle and poured into a stein. Brilliant amber body with a high amount of fine carbonation doing its job in keeping the dense pad of off-white foam in it’s place for the length. Fairly generous (atleast, unexpected) ’gelati’ and ’Milo’, oddly malty nose, with a degree of grassyness. Thin and a little watery in the mouth. Light, prickly carbonation gave way to bready, toasted grains and darker more accented malt flavours with a lingering hint of salted peanuts. Finish is a little slick with hints of nuts and lemony sour malt and hops. Overall, if it wasn’t so watered down it would be a decent quaffer, and it’s easily better than Australia’s bulk-standard macro floor cleaners. Average!!! (33cL, BBE 02/06)

330 ml bottle. Clear amber coloured beer. Arom ais a bit malty, with some toffee and a difinite diacetyl buttery note. Flavour is slightly sweet and malty as well. No real hop flavour. Slight buttery notes and a touch of mint. Not bad, but the body is a bit thin.

When in Hamilton...
A festive beer especially when drunk in large quantities, always leads to a good night but not necessarily rememberable.

Medium amber clear under a medium size short lasting fluffy white head. 3 day old drip tray and eggs "just going going off' aroma. Flavours include slightly sweet paper, burnt pop corn and faint stale stale hops. Still looking for the "finish with the well-defined bitterness" amongst the watery soft carmel sweet aftertaste. Leif said its the NZ equivalent of VB but I think it's definitley worse

Very little head on an amber body. Awful floral hoppy aroma. Faint bitter taste, some chewy caramel and not too much else

typically nutty with yellow pages aroma. ended up having a few of these watching the cricket and at least it had no nastiness which for a macro is something i guess
