Commercial Description:
Waitrose Vintage Perry is made in rural Herefordshire from specially selected English Perry pears, grown in the region since Norman times. It is fermented and matured in old oak vats, where it develops its special strength and unique flavour

Bottle (500ml). From ... well, duh ..... Vintage 2006. Pale, watery yellow, flat-looking, no head. Quite sour, acid aroma, borderline fruity - fruity, but I wouldn’t swear to it being pear. The taste - nice aged pear, very tart, yeah, you can taste the 8%. Light, watery body, quite acidic and medium carbonated - it seems to guild up a bit on the palate and ultimately just wasn’t 500ml of awesomeness....

Bottle from Waitrose, Thame, Oxon, 27-07-07 Poured more golden than I was expecting, sweet pears, some nice oakiness, dry towards end, quite tasty but a bit too sweet and also quite heavily carbonated, less is more!

Bottle. Golden with no head. Aromas are dry. sour pear with hints of salt. Flavours are dry, sweet earthy pear with some sourness. Some oak woodiness. Dry towards the finish. Hints of caramel. Has a nice gentle sparkle. Syrupy but not cloying. A decent perry.

500ml bottle from Waitrose. Silver, gold colour with no head, but quite carbonated. Delicate pear aroma. Sweetish pear in mouth, or is that the alcohol? Some woodiness on aroma and end from the oak casks I guess. It is quite sweet. Pear juice flavour is nice but a bit too carbonated and a bit too sweet.
