pivnizub (3900), Porúří, Germany Jul 9, 2008 Bottle (Dank an Stefan !): Hazy, deep amber coloured with a beige and kacy head; swet and toasted-malty nose with a fruity-vinous touch; quite light bodied for a beer of 5.6%, light to moderate sweet-bitter flavour; moderate sweet-fruity (dried fruits) finish with a light bitter chocolatey touch in the aftertaste. Quite light, but very decent Dunkel.......... MoritzF (3883), Ruhrpott, Germany Jul 7, 2008 (33cl bottle, courtesy of Quack-Duck) Hazy, dark brown colour with a medium-sized beige foamy head. Sweet, toast-malty aroma with a distinctive subtle dried fruity note, accompanied by an almost vinous touch of alcohol. Sweet and slightly bitter flavour, medium bodied with a smooth carbonation. Toast-malty and leafy taste with dried fruits and shades of cacao in the background; dry-ish, toasty and subtle fruity finish. Well-balanced and hearty Dunkel (07.07.08). Quack-Duck (1905), Bodensee, Germany Mar 28, 2008 bottle. This is an unfiltered Dunkel which was brewed to celebrate the 175th birthday of this brewery deep in the Black Forest.
Hazy dark brwon colour, nearly black. Very creamy beige head. Aroma of roasted malt. Full-bodied, flavours of roasted malt and caramel with a shy touch of smoke. Hoppy and dry in the lingering finish.
