22. Pours a murky burnished medium amber with a dense and creamy, though short-lived, whitish head. Spotty lace. Mild caramel and grapefruit nose. Creamy medium body with soft carb. Toast, caramel, grapefruit mid-palate...this is fairly standard stuff for an APA. We’ve had this beer before, but it’s done with no obvious flaws. Appealing oiliness to the finish, nice crisp grapefruity wash on the end.

650ml bomber purchased at Belmont Station in Portland, OR pours a pale amber color with a finger of white head that leaves some decent lacing. Aroma is caramel and cereal grains with some citrus and floral notes. Taste is light citric hop bitterness over a solid malty sweet backbone. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. A nicely done American classic pale ale that is quite tasty.
3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 bhensonb (8954) - Woodland, California, USA - JUN 14, 2012
Bomber from PC Market of Choice in Ashland. Pours light copper with a creamy/bubbly white head. Smells a bit of light pitted fruit. Approaching med body. Flavor seems to have significant diacetyl. But there’s various fruit and mildly roasted malt to sort of cover for that. Barring the one problem it’s pretty refreshing. Rerate: With time the diacetyl thing sort of diminished. So I’m adding a point.
