boFNjackson (495), Portland, Oregon, USA Feb 9, 2008 Tap... Poured dark ruby with NO head. Faint, malt aroma. Tasted like a straight up, mellow amber ale. Candy and malt dominate the flavors and with minimal hops. Also tasted like it was brewed with sulfur water. This one fell short for me for being from Walking Man. Maybe it was a bad tap. TheBeerLover (1008), DC Metro Area, USA Nov 12, 2007 Sampled a pint of this one on draught at the brewpub in Stevenson, WA. This beer pours to a beautiful, bright, chestnut brown color, with a thick, creamy, white head, and a good carbonation. The nose on this beer is very inviting, with good aromas of nutty and toasty malt, paired with some piney hops. The palate is firm with good sweet and nutty malt flavor, This beer finishes with really good nutty malt flavors up front, then ends with a nice piney smack of hop bitterness that lingers. Excellent example of American Brown Ale. I really enjoyed the malt and hop character of this beer, and both shine in this beer. A nice session beer, and a very food friendly one as well. SamuraiArtist (292), portland, Oregon, USA Oct 24, 2007 Pours with a huge creamy head. Slightly roasty aroma. Flavor is malty and toasty, some strong roasty nuttyness with a light hop bitterness, finishes very dry. DrBayern (894), Morehead City, North Carolina, USA Jul 29, 2007 Draft in Hood River, OR on 7/20/07. Deep brown amhogany with a light tan head. Malty aroma with some roasted nuts, dark brown sugar, and some piney hops. Medium body and carbonation, and a very smooth feel with a bit of chewiness. Malt flavors dominate the flavor as well, but some peppery hop bitterness enters at the finish for a nice drying effect. Skyview (2693), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA Jul 14, 2007 Sampled on tap at the brewpub in Stevenson, Washington during ABA Beer Tour ’07. Pours a cola caramel color brew with a fast dissolving white head that leaves behind a white ring. Aroma of caramel malts, dry roasted nuts and some grassy hops. Taste is medium bodied, lightly carbonated with some flavors of light milk chocolate, hazelnuts and a touch of pine. Finish is a little sweet and a little metalic aftertaste.
