Oakes (6819), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Jun 18, 2006 Updated: Jul 21, 2007Hazy chestnut brown colour. Has a reasonably complex chocolate malt character with light toastiness and a hint of brown sugar. Simple, well-made brown, rounded but with a subtlely complex maltiness. When my curry arrived, it held its own just fine. BückDich (4525), Boise, Idaho, USA Jun 11, 2004 Dark crimson walnut color with light head & lacing. The aroma is sweet with some caramel and light roasted barley. Flavor has a good malty dough caramel sweetness. Very balanced finish & delicious. Creamy smooth brown. acrdz (4248), Pennsylvania, USA Aug 14, 2004 Sampled @ brewery, July 2004. Clear light brown with a light tan head. Spicy and hopped maple nose, a little thin, lacking complexity. A regular brown ale. Skyview (2768), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA Jul 14, 2007 Sampled on tap at the brewpub in Stevenson, Washington during ABA Beer Tour 07. Pours a cola caramel color brew with a fast dissolving white head that leaves behind a white ring. Aroma of caramel malts, dry roasted nuts and some grassy hops. Taste is medium bodied, lightly carbonated with some flavors of light milk chocolate, hazelnuts and a touch of pine. Finish is a little sweet and a little metalic aftertaste. harlequinn (2746), Tacoma, Washington, USA Apr 5, 2006 Tap - Nice amberish brown color, with a small frothy head. Mixed nut aroma, somewhat reminiscent of fresh hazelnuts. Malt dominant, with just a tingle of hoppiness, very nicely balanced, this brown ale has it all, nuttiness, fruits, some bread. I like it.
