Tap off of a keg from the brewery. Pours a modest coppery amber color, clear. Nice billowy white head which leaves good lacing behind. Aroma is a bit earthy and herbal. Medium bodied. Flavors run to the hoppy side. Very earthy, somewhat musty. Slight notes of caramel attempt to balance. Moderate hop bitterness in the finish. Nicely done, a great session beer.

Sampled on tap at the brewpub in Stevenson, Washington during ABA Beer Tour ’07. Pours a clear reddish amber brew with a thin white head that dissolves to a fine ring. Aroma of earthy herbs/spices, some caramel malt and flowery hops. Taste is medium bodied, light carbonation with flavors of fruity pears/apples, mild flowery hops, and a touch of caramel. Finish has a mildly dry sweet character and flavor.

Tap @ Bailey’s Taproom... Poured amber with an off-white head, nice lacing. Aroma of hops and grains. Well carbonated, fizzy and dry. Hoppy with caramel malts before a grainy, biscuity finish.
