On tap at Walking Man in Stevenson, WA. Looks thin. Cherry comes out very strong in the nose, but the cherry comes across on the palate as tart, medicinal (cough syrup), and boozy, but without an actual high alcohol content. I feel it would be better as a higher gravity Imperial. The roasty grains are nice though.

Had at the Walking Man Brewpub. Disclaimer: cherry is not my thing. At all. With that being said this beer was barely passable....OK, maybe it was not passable. The "fake cherry" taste just lingered on the side of my tongue. Cough syrup tastes better than this....

Dark draft pour. Strong cherry aroma. Mild stout taste with chocolate and cherry flavors. Overall this is a great, must have beer. Very impressed.

Fruit in the nose, yet not quite cherry, more current fruit? Malt mixes and is quickly overtaken by cherry and a tinge of alcohol. As the cherry fades chocolate and malt sweetness rush in to the void before a slight cherry resurgence.

On tap at Henry's. Pours almost black, tan cap. Aroma of cherries, milk, medicine, chocolate. Taste is sweet, and a touch sour. Creamy, oily, and late dry finish.

On nitro at Imperial Bottle Shop & Taproom. Pitch black color with muddy tan head. Aroma is deep dark cherry with a hint of roasted malt. Taste is dark cherry, espresso, dark chocolate, and roasted malt. Only the note of bitterness in the aftertaste keeps the rating from being even higher.

This was a stout to remember with lots of roasted malted character coming through in both the flavour an aroma and sweet cherries complementing quite well. Drinks better than a 7.2% beer!

Tap at Walking Man, Stevenson, 24/05/13. Mid black with a medium tan head that retains well. Nose is cherries, dark chocolate, dark malt, light roast. Taste comprises black forest gateux, light roast, mineral bite, sugars. Medium bodied with fine carbonation, light roasty finish backed up with sugars. Ok if a little on the sweet side.

On tap @ the brewpub in Stevenson. Pours thick inky black with big mocha head. Aroma is sweet cherries and a bit of chocolate. Taste is rich dark roasty malts followed by big sweet cherry flavors. Notes of chocolate and espresso on the finish. Rich, heavy mouthfeel. Definitely not one of those subtle fruit beers, lots of cherry flavor here. Probably not for everyone, but a nice respite from much milder versions that are common. Worth seeking out if you are in the vicinity.
