Oct 18, 2005 Sampled @ GABF- Pours a golden amber color, small white head. Aroma is pine needles and fresh hops. Flavor is more pine, grapefruit, walnut, not much malt backing up the hops.

Jul 5, 2006 A nice amber pour with a slightly off aroma from a growler. A good flavor of hops and light malt. A slightly weak palate. Overall a well balanced beer. Thanks to Goldtwins at kp’s Cellar Party.

Jul 24, 2004 (RBSG04) Cloudy amber body with beige head. Aroma is medium sweet, floral, some grapefruit. Taste is medium sweet, floral, grapefruit, pine, some caramel. Medium-full body. Alcohol hardly noticeable.

Oct 3, 2007 Pint, on tap at henry’s in Portland. Chosen to drink alongside my entree of kaffir lime and mango cream sauce smothered scallops. Bo head as it was delivered to the table, sort of a still-looking dark amber. Nose was mostly piney, grassy, slight notes of alcohol. First sip, I was a bit disappointed in the overall thinness of the body. This is because it is listed as an Imperial IPA and I knew the alcohol content was hovering around 10%. I shouldn’t read the description beforehand, as i would be telling you what a great IPA this is. It was especially hoppy throughout and offered just a slight caramel malt sweetness in the middle. Piney and dry alcoholic aftertaste was really nice and well suited for wiping the sweet mango cream from my palate. A bit higher gravity or maybe just a bit more malt shining through and this would be a highly sought after treat!

Oct 14, 2006 GABF 2006. Bronze body. Nose is rich citrusy hops, chewy malts, and a touch of pine. Aroma is mouthwatering! Taste is more citrus fruits, rich hops, chewy malts, caramel, and maple notes. Body is medium-full and has a creamy carbonation feel. Finishes with more creamy maltiness, citrus, light pine, and caramel. Pretty nice IIPA!

Apr 29, 2007 On Tap at the brewpub. Hazy medium amber. Small off white head. Persistant lacing. Subtle aroma of sweet malts and citrusy hops. Inviting. Flavor was also subdued. Very nice balance with a long strong flavorfull bitterness. A bit of the VABV comes throught to betray its Doubleness. Nice.

Jul 16, 2005 On Tap at the PIB (Portland International Brewfest) The beer poured awesome and had a great aromoa. Loved the hops to this beer. Great flavor. I will be making a stop in Stevenson Washington. A great amber hue color. Great beer.
