Tasted on tap at Walking Man. A great imperial IPA. Not overpowering in the hops or alcohol taste. Just a splendid mix of bittering and flavoring hops.

Bottle (22oz $5.50) Hazy golden with smallish white head that disappears. Somewhat sweet, malty, but turns much more bitter than I like. The bitterness is not sudden, but builds and lingers and ends up tasting metallic. Not balanced IMHO.

Bottle. Pours a somewhat hazy amber color with a moderate off-white head on there. Nose has some floral and fruity notes, but does smell a little old and earthy. Taste has that earthy bitterness that comes up when hops are past their prime.

Bottle pour at home, thick golden pour, little head. Little spice and bitter aroma, nice flavor of hops, citrus, oranges. Hides the ABV well.

Bomber. Golden amber pour topped with a sudsy layer of beige foam and bubbles. Lots of floral hops, sugary malt and orange blossom honey in the aroma. Taste is a blend of pine, orange rind and caramel malt along with some ruby red grapefruit and grassy bitterness to round things out. Definitely one of the maltier PNW style DIPA’s. Glad they finally bottled it.

Bottle. Burnt orange pour with a white head. Heavy caramel malt aromas. Loads of pine and resin hop notes run head first into the huge caramel malt backbone. Eucalyptus undercurrents. Average body and mouthfeel.

Draft at Uber, Seattle. Rich golden pour. Heavy banana, malty strong DIPA. Sweet, heavy yeast. Strong coating flavor, but it isn’t adding up well for me, the flavors are strong but not tasty at all to me.

just billed as Walking Man Imperial IPA at Old Mill Brew Werks in bend. Lots of respect for this, but I suspect a combo of old kegs/dirty lines. This wasn’t anything special, especially for a double IPA. More than ample bitterness, but little else. Lacking in aroma and flavor, by a long shot. Hope to be able to give this another chance one day...

Growler from ABV. Pouring a clear copper with a dense, off white head with excellent retention and very nice lacing, this looks great! The nose opens with a big blast of Cascade hops, citrus, chalky and moderately juicy. Candied grapefruit and citrus are present along with an intense pine oil aroma. Malt is moderate, caramel and bready in nature. The palate opens with an intense, pungent pinesol bitterness and flavor, massively resiny, immensely dank and hilariously over the top. Alcohol and sweetness are noticeable and add an intensity to the palate. Simple syrup, bread, caramel and a little burnt toast are noticeable. The mid palate has some of the citrus and fruit flavors with candied grapefruit, honeydew melon and orange peel. Mildly sweet and quite bitter on the finish, this beer is medium-full in body and softly carbonated. The booze, the bitterness and the sweetness make this a little difficult to drink a ton of. Decent stuff.
