GABF 2006. The beer has a CRAZY mousse looking head that could be eaten with a spoon. Black body. The aroma is sweet chocolate silk pie and graham crackers. Mocha. The flavor is rich chocolate silk pie. Creamy. Sorta one-dimensional. Rich and extremely full mouthfeel. Too one-dimensional, but still was quite good.

Beer #22 RBSG 06. Darkest brown black appearance, decent head. Slight aroma of milk chocolate, raisins, and alcohol. Flavor was a dead on match, although the chocolate perhaps leaned a bit more towards the dark chocolate side. Some cherry as well. Bit of alcohol heat. Really nice.

4/12/10 by way of dakine. thick pour. brownish black with a small tannish head. alcohol is up front and burns the snout quite a bit... past that are notes of chocolate, roast, vanilla, molasses, prunes, wood and lots of florals from the booze. the flavor is the same... oddly dull though the body is full and slick. 6/4/6/4/14/3.4

RBSG 06. Black body with tan head, fading. My girlfriend says "looks delicious". The aroma is molasses, chocolate, burnt and toffee. The flavor is toffee, burnt, roast, chocolate and plums. Medium/full body with bitter dry end.

Sampled at the RBSG ’06. Black with a tan head. Complex sweet aroma with loads of roasted malts balancing out the caramel. Solid hop bitterness in the flavor that finishes with a dry palate. Alcohol that is well hidden.

Dark, dark, brown. Anise and a bit of coffee in the aroma. A touch of ash. The flavor is atually a little thin.

This beer is so hard to track down, finally found it on tap at Belmont Station today. Pours black with a small brown head. Very rich roasted chocolate body. Notes of rich chocolate meld with a fruity brandy and faint burnt flavors. Very heavy feeling beer that packs a punch.

Been waiting a long time to try this one. No light penetration whatsoever, this is black as stouts come. Small dark brown head. Nose is as complex as I expect the flavor to be. Lots of dried dark fruits, some roasted coffee and vanilla as in oakiness. Thick and sweet mouthfeel, with big notes of espresso, and heavy dark chocolate and cocoa. Sits nicely on the palate without being overwhelming for the amount of alcohol is perfectly masked for being 12.7%

09.29.05 GABF Near black, pretty stuff without romanticizing, even for an impy stout. Aromas are huge, and it doens’t take but two samples to realize this is world class. Rich and deep with huge dark fruits, dried mission figs in steel aged port, and bigtime dark chocolate. Flavors in line with aroms with the addition of chewy tobacco, and by chewy, I mean chewing. This stuff reminds me of some juicy plug. S’mores and smoke round it out. Wow. Palate is rich and coating without being too sticky or too oily. Excellent stuff, great heads up to whoever pointed me towards Walking Man.
