3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Growler shared by Dan Munch of Walking Man... Poured jet black with a thin, light tan head. This one was Bourbon aged, I’m not sure it warrants a new entry, but I’ll throw it here for now. Nose had strong vanilla, toffee, and malted grains. Light roast, but really smooth with lots of oak, wood, whiskey, vanilla, and sweetness. This was treat, but honestly, I think I’d prefer regular Jaywalker.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Multiple glasses at the 2009 WABL Anniversary Party. Couldn’t stop drinking this crack. Espresso, lots of smooth chocolate, vanilla, oak, and some dark fruit. Good dose of alcohol throughout, but never overwhelming. Seriously - this is crack in liquid form. Lovely. I’d be happy enough to see the regular Jaywalker in Seattle again one of these days, but I’d fall all over myself to get more of this.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap at the WABL Party. Big boozy sweet nose. Lots of dark sweet chocolate and dark fruit. Oak pokes through and lends some sweet boozy notes. Dark brown more or less black pour, thinnish tan ring surrounds the top of the beer as it works its way down the glass. Dark fruit up front, sugary sweetness, underlying roasted malts and coffee, vanilla and oaky notes too. Dry finish is woody and earthy. Nice alcohol presence in the finish. Really nice stuff.
