Sep 30, 2008 Hard Liver 08. Dark orange brew with nice lacing and lasting head. Aromas of caramel, toffee, citrus, and some buttery malts. Initial sweet grainy malts, caramel, toffee, candi sugar, vanilla, and a little plasticy to me too. Hops come through as earthy and floral. Creamy smooth body with a ton of booze.

Apr 24, 2008 Red-brown beer under a yellow head. Wood, US hops, but restrained, cashews, orange- or mandarinepeel. Wry, sweet-bitter in an excellent balance. Slick, viscuous, chewy, wry-woody in the mouth. Excellent beer sustaining the fame of its brewers.

Mar 26, 2008 snifters @ both beverage place barleywine bacchanal and hard liver - 2006 and 2007 vintages; both dark copper with slight haze; aromas of dates, figs and malts; no burn and very flat aftertaste that was more pronounced in the 2006; creamy texture and chewy finish; 2007 has more hops and 2006 is more subtle, but both pack a great punch

Dec 17, 2007 On tap at Walking Man in Stevenson, WA--Poured a rich amber body with a medium to small almond head. Big lacing. Full, rich creamy body with a nice chewy, robust finish. Quite warming and worth a second try if the opportunity ever presents itself.
