3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Ughsmash (6669) - Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA - OCT 27, 2012
Bottled. Poured clear medium orange with a dense, creamy eggshell head.. looked very good. The aroma picked up spicy pine, pineapple, and peppery hoppage over sweet caramel.. dank floral notes on the back of the nose.. came across very resiny. The flavor found sweet caramel and biscuity malts with bright alcohol-fueled bitterness around (mostly citrus and floral notes).. finished spicy with resiny bitterness, but not quite enough carbonation. Medium-bodied with not enough carbonation on the palate.. otherwise tasty and well-balanced.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 crossovert (4561) - Wisconsin, USA - SEP 2, 2012
Like the hop bill, but maybe the additions vould be better. It is definitely bitter but it isn’t round, it is rather blunt. Slightly spicy, dank, a decent malt backbone, the hops dont sing.
4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 bruwery (35) - Lowell, Michigan, USA - NOV 9, 2011
On tap at Walldorff. This beer is very likable, but the alcohol really sneaks up on you, as the huge hop bill disguises it quite well. In fact, I had no idea until logging on here that the ABV is this high; I just assumed I had a low tolerance... I love the nose on this beer; my wife thinks I have issues because I hold the glass to my face for inordinate amounts of time simply enjoying the aroma.
2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 Hudspart (537) - Hudsonville, Michigan, USA - AUG 7, 2011
On tap at the brewpub. This was not a very good beer. Very thin and somewhat watery. Maybe I just had a bad one seeing the other reviews, but this is a very, very weak IPA.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 johnnnniee (1496) - Bedford, New Hampshire, USA - MAY 28, 2011
Received in trade from jbck109, thanks for the opportunity.
Pours a clear deep golden copper color with a stingy white head that exhibits little staying power. Smells exudes all the usual suspects, citrus mostly in the from of grapefruit with a caramel malty background and hints of pine and a slightly earthy character. Taste is pretty much what I expected from the aroma. Caramel malt that succumbs to the grapefruit and pine onslaught and a long lingering citrus aftertaste in every sip. Maybe I imagined this, but halfway through the first glass I started picking up some garlic in the flavor. Medium to full body with a moderate level of carbonation, creamy and resinous mouthfeel. Nice old school style IPA heavy on the c hops and very easy to drink. Glad I got to try this.

Bottle shared by Tmoney99. Pours a hazy amber color with a small whitish ring of bubbles. The aroma is moderately sweet caramel malts, resiny, citrus notes that favor grapefruit. The flavor opens with dry bitterness, resiny; some fruitiness an mild sweetness come through mid palate from a shot of toffee; earthy. The finish is more dry bitterness. Medium +body. Decent beer.

Medium to full body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy bittersweet flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. This is a very good beer.
