Deep amber color, smooth malty character with an herbal hoppy nose finish. Any of our Classics complement the toasted, malty notes of this spirited Red ale.

On tap at Walnut brewpub. Pour is hazy amber with a small cream colored head and great lacing. Grainy, corny, slightly grassy, bready, and biscuity aroma. Taste is again heavy grain, cereal, earthy, lightly grassy, bready, and stale. Medium body with high carbonation. Bleh.

UPDATED: JUN 14, 2013 RERATE 6.14.2013: Tried the cask version, and once again the cask version seemed marginally better. The cask temperature and carbonation, combined with the citra dry hop, help enhance the flavor of this beer. Still mild, a little watery, but better. Tried to stay objective, but was pretty excited to taste the batch I helped brew.

On tap at Walnut. Pours a clear red copper with a finger of white head, settles quickly with minimal lacing. Aroma is mildly malty, nutty. Flavor is mildly malty, nutty, with a mildly bitter, malty aftertaste. Flavor is quite mild, fleeting, and disappointing. Moderate carbonation, light body, and a watery texture. Not sure how this won an award. A weak Irish ale. (2.8/5)
