4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
375ml bottle served in a pint glass.
A: Pours a black oiled color forming minimum head. Low retention and no lacings left
S: Roasted malts. Caramel malts. Toffee. Dark chocolate
T: Slightly sweet upfront. Roasted malts. Toffee. Dark chocolate. A little bit sour. I guesd that the high temperature screwed it.
M: Heavy and very creamy body. Low carbonation. Roasted aftertaste
O: Good drinkability. Authentic Imperial Stout made in Brazil

Imperial stout molto interessante, con un corpo setoso e denso, gusto intrigante dominato da note di caffé e cioccolato con un tocco di liquirizia e anice. Molto buona!

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Sought this out after sampling at the 2014 Windy City Distributing Expo in Chicago, IL.. Shared 12.7 oz. bottle with cork & cage, viscously poured to snifters showing an opaque, black/brown hue, with a brownish tan layer of bubbly head foam, a light, syrupy coating on the glass, and spotty lacing. The nose was roasted, predominantly cocoa, with touches of star anise, tobacco, and cold press coffee on the back. Medium+ bodied, with soft carbonation, the taste included a touch of toffee sweetness, medium, earthy hop bitterness, hidden alcohol, and a baker’s chocolate dryness to the finish. Nice complexity, rich & tasty.

375ml orked and caged bottle. This one pours a dark black color, light mouthfeel, has some tanginess that might suggest infection or just a super fruity RIS.
