COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Crisp, floral hop aroma with a rich malty sweetness that is beautifully balanced by its spicy hop bitterness.

Served on tap at Cassels Brewery, aroma has very subtle hops. Minimal malt flavour, some yeast flavour, appearance is good, no head retention though. Taste is a good pilsner. Not very interesting but true to style and easy to drink. Have had it in Wanaka in a bottle before and from memory the head retention was better in a glass and more flavour. Good carbonation on the mouth. Better than Heineken.

330ml bottle. Opaque golden hue with a thin white head which rapidly diminished to a thin creamy ring. Fresh malty aromas, white bread dough, lots of marshmallow, grassy, light floral. Tastes very nice; sweet with a long bitter finish. Palate is also very good; medium body, soft texture, lightly carbonated, long bitter astringent finish. Its been over 10 years since I previously experienced this beer at the brewery and the passion the brewer had for brewing then still seems to have made it into this bottle of Brewski. Good stuff.

Bottle. [thank you, bluebetty]
Pale golden with a slight green hue, fine staying, frothy, white head. Lovely grassy and spicy aroma with crisp malts, light doughy, floral. Very fresh. Highish carbonation, light and mild dry mouthfeel. Flavour is mildly sweet, some graininess, doughy malts sweetness, spicy, pepper, grassy bitter. Lingering grassy bitterness. A very good pils!

Light and golden with a white head that appears and then sinks into the glass and all but disappears. There’s a gorgeous lemon meringue aroma that wafts from the glass. Putting the nose in the glass encounters perfumy malt, lemon juice and pineapple chunks. For it’s smell, it isn’t sweet until you get a small amount of citrus at the front of the tongue. This comes through a huge cloud of popping mouthfeel and a dry bitterness at the back of the tongue. Quenching and leaves a dry finish. Finally, a lager with character!

Pours gold, with a quick disappearing head. A bit of butterscotch on the nose, sweet flowery notes, nothing too strong. Well balanced taste, a bit sweet, a bit bitter, and slightly sour. Feels rounded in the mouth. A nice example of the New Zealand Pilsener style, a good easy-drinking session lager.

Very pale in colour, bland and watery with nothing good going on. A very unappealing beer.

Bottle poured into a Pilsner glass. Pale straw and bright with a head that dissipated quickly. Not much on the nose but a little grain, butterscotch and a hint of fruity hops. Really well balanced and drinkable, light - medium body, tropical fruit hops are much more prominent in the mouth than the nose, still a hint of butterscotch in the background but I think it works well. Finishes dry and crisp. Wonderfully refreshing

330ml bottle. Bright gold and carry’s a flat crisp white head. A fruity caramel aroma that is unusual but not unpleasant. Very silky and smooth on the palate with a butterscotch flavour. A good interpretation of the style.
