A taste that conjures up images of honey and bees in the springtime.
A dry golden coloured 6.5% beer where we used a mixture of clover and manuka honey for the bottle fermentation. The malt and motueka hop flavours strike tenderly the tongue, followed by a lasting honey and hallertauer touch to the troth.
Wort filtered to 16 Plato, 25 IBU bitter hopping, bottle conditioned, best served at 8-10°C

Big honeycomb aroma. Hazy/cloudy straw colour with a big white head. Big citrus flavour but short mouthfeel.

Hazy gold with a full, fluffy white head and tiny suspended particles. But then not all beers need to be perfectly clear, do they? The scent (and it is scent rather than aroma) is floral rather than honeyed. Buttercups, hibiscus, passionflower. The scent isn’t necessarily strong, but it is intriguing. Lovely.
Very smooth. A beer that gently coughs beside you and then suggests itself as you’d imagine a butler of an English country house to do when you’re a guest and he’s politely telling you to stop belting the piano with a sledgehammer. Then honey comes up, but not overly. This beer has sophistication and subtlety. Not terribly bitter and the finish is restrained but definitely there.
What a charmer.
