The Bodega, Brooklyn tap ($5): Pours brown with a creamy tan head. Aroma is slightly fruity and some roasted malt. Taste is really full for a 4.4% alcohol ale. Taste is slightly sweet, with a nice malty presence. Hops are pretty minimal as one would expect. Good beer.

Draft @ Ale House in Amesbury, MA. Pint glass shows me a mostly clear dark brown with lasting white head. Nose is English malts and a hint of hops. Taste has plenty of English malt, light toffee and just the right hop to balance the sweetness. At 4.3 ABV this is truly a tasty session brew. A nice brew to have with dinner.

On tap at Fette Sau in Brooklyn, so I got that food pairing recommendation down. Pork belly and brisket... mmmm. Pours dark brown with a creamy yellowish tan head. Nose is nutty chocolate and roast grain. I thought at first I had gotten a porter by mistake. Similar taste. Tons of flavor, but a light, not so filling palate -- though not at the expense of a full flavor. Great, especially with my meal.

Cask at DBA. Sweet aroma, slight roasted notes. Sweet and roasty on the palate, creamy and smooth mouth feel. All the characteristics of a classic English mild, very sessionable and definitely more suited for cask dispense.

Dark brown color, small off-white head. Caramelly, a bit chocolaty aroma. Light bodied. Toasted, porter-like flavor. Some chocolate and coffee. Short roasty finish. Nice session beer.

On tap at Fette Sau - Brooklyn, NY. Toasty mid-dark nose. Flavor is rich and balanced. Not too light, but beautifully sessionable. Nice dark malt profile and clean. Went very well with barbeque.
