Clear deep golden color with a fine white head. Fine off white head. Malty, mild bready and some herbal notes. Medium body. Fine balance between sweetness and bitterness. Average carbonation. Caramel malty, mild bready and a bit herbal. Utterly boring brew! I can eat rakfisk. But not with this brew. I will not drink this brew agin.

A white whale this one. I’ve been searching for it the last two years at least. And suddenly there it was: a 0,5 l bottle at Lerøy Mat, Galleriet, Bergen. The best before date is August 2015, so this could be a new batch. Pours a misty golden body with a dense light brown small head. Wooden caramel nose. Sweet, acidic and bitter. Malty, caramel sauce. Medium body and a lasting papery, bitterness.

Bottle. Pours amber, with a finger thick head. Aroma is yeasty, with edgy spicy hops as well as roasted malts with honey and toffee. Normal body with soft carbonation. Flavour is sweet with roasted caramel malts with some yeasty earthy notes, and some dry spicy hops finishing off.

Flaske fra butikken.klar kobberfarget, medium karbonert. Liten hvit skumtopp. Smaker malt, laramell, toffee, jord og litt kjelleraroma. Har ikke prøvd den til rakfisk. Interessant butikkøl

Medium offwhite head. Clear amber body with carbonation. Earthy caramelly syrupy aroma with toffee notes. Dry-sweet earthy caramelly strawy taste with resiny strawberry notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Dryish caramelly rye crisp bread aftertaste with earthy notes. Nice, drinkable, full-flavoured. (0.5l bottle, from Meny Strømmen.)

Bottle. It’s a golden-colored unclear beer with a dense, off-white head of two-finger size. Lacings left. The aroma has a lightly smoked hint, with something reminiscent of sour milk in the far back. Farmhouse notes, barnyard, dust and pine cones blends in. Sweet flavor with smoked notes, some farm-notes and pine cones. Medium body, nice carbonation, and a finish with bitterness and citrus peel. Overall I think it’s a bit sweet for rakfisk, but it’s a fine beer anyway. 120914

330 ml bottle. Deep golden body with a medium sized off-white head. Aroma is grainy and fruity with a light hint of farmhouse. Flavor is sweet malt and a fruity with some kind of sweet almost harsh bitterness. Not bad, but a bit unusually in flavor.
